49ers increase lead to 17-0 in second quarter

The second 49ers-Packers game of this season is starting to look a lot like the first one.

Raheem Mostert ran nine yards for his second touchdown of the game and the 49ers lead the Packers 17-0 with just over nine minutes to play in the first half. The 49ers beat the Packers 37-8 in a Week 12 game that saw them go up 10-0 in the first quarter and 23-0 before halftime.

They waited until the first play of the second quarter to increase their lead to double digits this time and they didn’t wait long to tack on more points. 49ers cornerback K'Waun Williams stripped Aaron Rodgers on third down inside the Packers’ 15-yard-line and they had to punt after guard Billy Taylor was able to fall on the fumble. JK Scott‘s punt only went 23 yards and the 49ers quickly drove for the Mostert touchdown.

Williams’ sack was the second straight third down sack for the 49ers defense. Nick Bosa wrestled Rodgers down to end the previous possession and a good Richie James punt return set the home team up near midfield. Kyler Fackrell‘s sack forced a 54-yard field goal attempt that Robbie Gould put through the uprights.

Running back Tevin Coleman injured his right shoulder during the latest scoring drive and needed to be carted off to the locker room, which is a bad turn for the Niners and about all that’s gone wrong for them to this point on Sunday.

UPDATE 7:32 p.m. ET: Coleman is being called questionable to return.

  1. It is now time for the Green Bay Cheese Cheaters to deploy their cheating – use pre-snap defensive penalties to get free plays so they can make this game competitive. It is clear that Green Bay cannot handle the 49er defense so the Cheese Cheater will try to draw the defense offsides. Book it. Ewwin Wawgers had made a career of getting free plays when he cannot run a real offense.

No offense, defense or special teams…not a good look GB.

Ask the Vikings how good it looks from their couches.

  3. Watched every Packer game and said it all year. This is more of a 10-6 roster than 13-3. They had zero injuries and many lucky breaks over the season. They’re just being exposed now.

  4. First half the Packer D hasnt shown up after the first drive and AR hasnt shown up after the first drive. Perhaps the second half will be better. Likely not.

  5. Hey Waffle…..your soft team the Cheeeeesers are getting stomped!!!
At least tue Vikings gave a fight and wanted to try…
SMH….how soft yhe cheeeeeese gets away from Lambyyyy

  6. First of all, this game has nothing to do with the Vikings. Leave that weak a$@ crap at home. Packers are the ones getting embarrassed. Try and address that, Mr. Packer Troll. Rodgers looks scared and old.

Aww someone’s feeling are hurt and he is lashing out.

  8. Look on the brightside Cheese Cheater fans. Ewwin Wawgers is still perfect in the game passing. He has yet to throw an interception to go with his FUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE! ROFL!

    Congratulations on your participation ribbon.
But I think you need to score to qualify as participation, don’t you?

  10. Oh, no!

First Ewwin throws his first incompletion.

Now he adds an interception to his HOF playoff career resume.

Ewwin Wawgers – the biggest fraud in NFL history – pads his stats with free plays that he gets because he cannot run a real offense.

    GOOOOOO 49ers!

  11. Say what you want about “corny” R Wilson, he doesn’t give up like Rodgers obviously has.

    Look at his face.

  12. Green Bay Cheese Cheater fans….

Which will happen first – 49ers get to 40 or the Cheese Cheaters scoring an offensive touchdown?

  13. LeFraud & his exposed “team”.
I will say that nobody seen gb doing up 2019 like they did. Next season will be full of no surprises…ha, aaron just threw an interception (must’ve partied too much last night).

  14. Packers are so soft it is ridiculous that they even made it to this game. The guy above is right. The eagles would give a much better account than these pansies. They are making Mostert look like Jim Brown. Amazing how bad they have played in California

  15. Note to Ewwin Wawgers – you only need one more turnover to be as good as Lame in Baltimore! And then Baltimore’s coach can point out that Lame is younger than Ewwin Wawgers.

  16. This game is actually a lot closer than the score indicates. If Green Bay had scored on each of their drives, they could possibly be leading.

  17. NFL made a mistake when they helped GB with that home cooking last week.

Seattle would have made a great game.

  18. Didn’t the Cheese Cheaters say they learned something after the first game?

This is too delicious! Rarely has anyone stomped these miscreants from Green Bay like this. What a bunch of pretenders!

  19. 160 rushing yards given up in a half by the Cheese Cheaters.

I wonder if the defensive coach will be employed after the game or be given cab fair to catch a coach flight home on his own dime!?

  20. Hey Waffle now 27-0.
Totally zero zip surprised here. I just know NOW for sure that the Vikings were a superior opponent.
Shame is and truth shining through……

  21. Oh God, will Aarron even play in the second half? He gets so moody when he’s angry and quits because nothing is ever his fault.

  22. Everyone said the packers had to take another step forward. I was the only one who said the green and gold must maintain the status quo for the green and gold to have a chance. Status quo beat the Seahawks. Oh my beloved green and gold what are you doing!!! Why are you just sitting there loading your pants! Play some defense! The Vikings played better than this……And the refs are calling a perfect game too! Dang nab it.

  23. This is a 6-10 team (at best) propped into a pathetic display of worthlessness as a #2 seed via scandalous and blatant ref-cheatery.

What an epic failure of an organization and fanbase. Just a complete an utter joke.

Green Bay liquor stores gonna need armed guards tonite.

  24. It’s now 27-0 49ers. Green Bay doesn’t have the fire power to come back from that and even if they did that 49ers defense doesn’t look like it’s one that would fold.

  25. No, friends!

The 49ers were not stomping on roaches.

Dems are Cheese Cheaters sporting their amazing Discount Double Check scheme having their Snoopy Bowl dreams crushed.

  26. Simply better personal on the SF team. The GB team overachieved at 13-3 and even the GB fans acknowledged that. A rebuilding team with an aging QB took it as far as possible. 28 other teams watching from their couches along with the fans of 28 other teams.

  27. Underrated Packers have been disrespected while going 13-3 with a 3rd place schedule. GOAT QB underperforming last week’s immobile obelisk. Waiting for Florio to explain how much closer this blowout is than meets the eye……..

  28. Hope you have a comfy couch stellar……you have to be flat on your back with how well the Pack is doing.

  29. 27-0 lol at all the haters saying we weren’t a playoff team and we’d only win 5 games.

  30. In all seriousness. I’m surprised the Packers went 13-3. Thought they were fooling themselves. But you can’t take away their wins. I didn’t expect they’d be just horrific today. But, we saw evidence that they would. Against the Chargers. Against 49ers earlier. Their team has as much chance of going 8-8 next year as they do 12-4. 49ers clearly best team in nfc right now.

Not even the refs can bail out Green Bay today.
    What are you talking about?

The refs have handed this game to the 49ers.
They hold at will on offense and defense.

  32. I’m a Green Bay homer but all year long I was so upset by the wins because they lacked a signature of a power football team and then I was told I was not a real fan…… I’d rather lose to a great team like San Francisco if it were close, but this is flat out embarrassing because we can’t even use it as a measuring stick unless we play a high school team playing the Packers. Frustrating, congrats to the 49ers headed to Miami.

  33. All these Vikings fans talking trash and they couldn’t beat Green Bay either game this season. Please tell me why your team is so superior

I can see why SF passed on Rodgers in the draft

And yet he has one more ring than your team does

Hey Alan Lightweight and Screaming Yellow Zonkers, what time to the Vikings play this week?

    What time do the Pack?

  37. Poor Ewwin Wawgers. He scored a touchdown and then the meanie 49ers dissed him by having the audacity to match his score. With a defense like the Cheese Cheaters, wouldn’t it be easier to just raise a white flag? What happened the defensive Smith twins that we were being told were so great? Did they make the plane from Cheese Land? Perhaps Betty White could play for another Snickers bar and join the team to offer some resistance to the 49er running game!

  38. Consider this rubbing salt into Cheese Cheater wounds…

Right now with 3:30 left in the 3rd quarter, the 49er QB has passed for 48 yards.

OMG – did the 49ers consider naming this offense as the “Neanderthal” offense?

Stompin’ roaches in White and Yellow uniforms!

  39. ESPN is reporting that Colon K is whining that he could throw for 48 yards just like Joey G. Developing story. Apparently Colon K wants to sign on to play QB and is willing to sue to make it happen.

Yeah…you Pack fans like to live in the past.

Packers and Vikings it don’t get any easier than that!

Exactly! It will be the Niners fan to wonder how it all went wrong after their team loses to the Chiefs after playing so superior in the first two playoff games.

  42. Why do teams throw away from Yip Yap Richard Sherman? He hasn’t been above average in years. He was just faked out. He didn’t even say “no” to offer any resistance.
