With the Super Bowl in the books, the NFL is back in offseason mode today, and open for business.

And for the teams at the top, that means the big focus will be the 2020 NFL Draft.

After last night’s game, the rest of the order of the first round was filled in. There are still compensatory picks to be doled out later, but teams now know where they’ll be picking for at least the first two rounds.

  1. Oh good, the Cardinals pick #8.

    That should be high enough to find a future All-Star like Calais Campbell or Tyrann Mathieu that a future contender will need when our front office screws up negotiations a couple of years from now.

  2. Hopefully Seattle trades down 3 times and just rolls the dice with 5-6 picks between rounds 2-4 because last year’s 1st Rd pick of Collier was an absolute disaster.

  3. Well, things appear to be getting back to normal.

    Every other team in the NFCN is picking ahead of Green Bay.

  4. Saints will trade #24 and all other picks in order to move up to get a new long snapper or player that no one else wants.

    Hard to believe the Steelers wasted their pick on an 8-8 season. Bad call.
    =========================
    Pittsburgh acquired a young defensive stud that was a 1st round just one year ago. He played lights out before the trade and was even better after the trade. Not a wasted pick at all. They know what they have as opposed to rolling the dice on 17th – 20th pick.

    And they went 8-8. Wow.

  7. Only scenario in which the Bengals trade the #1 overall pick is this: Trade to the Dolphins for all 3 first round picks this year, their first round pick next year, and a signed and notarized written guarantee that the Dolphins will actually go 0-16 so they can draft Lawrence next season.

  8. This order doesn’t make any sense. I have received assurances since October that the Ravens were the most unstoppable team that football has ever seen. And they would be picking 32nd in the first round

  9. If Russell Wilson is worth 35 million dollars per season, Patrick Mahomes should be paid twice as much money.

    Pats at #23…that is like the top ten for most teams…be afraid, be very afraid

    They should be able to find a qb with that pick who can throw more than just slants and outs.

  11. The eagles should be drafting after the bills. Both bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Eagles get a home game because the nfc East was terrible and a better draft pick because the bills had a better regular season record. Doesn’t seem right. Not a fan of either team- btw

  12. The Colts will be one of the teams sandbagging it for Lawrence again next year like they did for Luck.

    They got a pro-bowl young D-back that just completed his 2nd year in the league….Yeah, a real waste….

  14. The pathetic Lions will just blow another pick on a useless player. Two TEs drafted withing a decade in the first round. Talk about Mismanagement, the Lions are the epitome of failure.

    Trubisky owns my Lions. We have had Stafford 12 years and we can’t win a playoff game to save our life!

    Yeah….that Brady guy never really worked out. Going to and winning the Super Bowl a lot with the best to ever lead a team is dumb and boring. The Patriots have to be getting sick of all that success, right?

    I mean, it’s abundantly clear that you are.

    Second straight year no playoffs. 8-8 record. Worse than even the year before they got this so-called defensive superman. GOOD CALL.

  17. Fortunately the Bears do not get a 1st round pick (go Team Vegas) that they would screw-up but work on the Halas Hall renovation is proceeding in an orderly fashion

    If we’re talking about performance based pay, Jimmy G wouldn’t be worth much more that free movie tickets.

  19. R*vens shouldn’t have a first round pick once the league completes the investigation into Bluetooth guy.

  20. No pick for the Bears? Oh, they traded for that really good linebacker. Did anyone see the Superbowl? On one side Robbie Gould was drilling field goals, and on the other Mahomes won the game. Both could be on the Bear’s roster right now.

    ++++
    We all noticed you didn’t list your all-world, super duper HOF, 49er game manager QB, who looks to be vastly overpaid.

  22. Sporting News in their 1st mock draft had the Vikings taking a TE from Missouri with the 25th pick. If Spielman did that I would want him to be fired. Shows you how bad the Sporting News is today and why I don’t bother with it.
