Tom Brady stresses patience as he prepares for free agency

Patriots (for now) quarterback Tom Brady said in a recorded phone call with UFC President Dana White today that he and everyone else will have to be patient with free agency approaching.

White talked to Brady on the phone and livestreamed the conversation, and White told Brady both that he should stay in New England, and that he should head to Las Vegas (where the UFC is based) and play for the Raiders if he ends up leaving the Patriots.

“The question everybody wants to know: First of all, I’m a Boston guy through and through, I want you to go with the Patriots. But let me make my last pitch, Las Vegas would love to have you here with the Raiders. The stadium, the facility is incredible. The training facility that they have outside of Vegas is unbelievable. It’s a 45-minute flight from L.A. Your kids and your family could live there. You could fly back and forth. We want you to come to the Raiders. You know I’ve been pitching you now for a month.”

Brady appreciated White’s pitch, telling him, “I love you,” but he did not tip his hand about where he might end up.

“I know it’s been a lot of patience for me,” Brady said. “And obviously being where I’ve been for 20 years, it’s been an amazing experience and I don’t know what the future holds right now. I’m just trying to be patient through this process. It’s my first time going through it. And, in the meantime, I’m going to spend a lot of time with my family over the next 10-12 days and we’ve got a little vacation planned, which I’m looking forward to.”

Everyone is looking forward to finding out where Brady will play next year, but we may have to wait beyond just the start of free agency to find out.

  1. Don’t forget to sneak in a round of golf with some PGA players and call it “time with family”, Tom!

    lmao

  2. He should take his time. He’s earned it. Teams that want a quick/instant answer have other options.

  3. Yes, Tom’s earned it. Hope he stays but it’s all up to Bill. I’m not a fan of Bill and how he treats people like other’s on here. How can you work with someone for 20 years and not communicate? Strange.

  4. Like Streisand or Celine Dion or Patty LaBelle, a true diva knows that you make them wait for you

  5. No denying he’s the best, but the Raiders aren’t a 42 year old QB away from winning when the defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed

  6. Last season he couldn’t get it done with a historic defence and special teams. If he comes back I hope he takes a pay cut and compete for the starting job.

  7. I can’t imagine Derek Carr is pleased with Dana White eagerly trying to give his job away.
And if someone approached one of White’s fighters about switching over to another organization, White wouldn’t waste any time filing a lawsuit or 2.
And finally, does White have any kind of position or responsibility within the Raider organization to be offering jobs to anyone?
    Talk about arrogance and hubris.

  8. Patience? With today’s media?? Lol, not happening, every website wants to be first to report whatever he does but in the meantime, enjoy the false reports and rumors for traffic

Agreed, Raiders are three CB’s, two LB’s and a couple WR’s away from competing for the playoffs and then you have to contend that rocket arm in KC, Brady can’t fix all that

Is that the Special Teams that had to go thru half a dozen kickers? Anyway, as you well know, he had a heavily patched o-line and patched/carousel at all the weapon positons – all except Edelman, who played hurt all year. Plus late on some D got injured too – yet they still took the div and reached the playoffs – each for a record breaking consecutive time.

  11. He never looked old until last year it’s just stupid for any other team to take. Let NE keep him and Brady will suck next year and then retire.

Who says they weren’t speaking? What’s strange is people making things up in their head.that aren’t even true.

  13. “He never looked old until last year ”

He didn’t look old last year. What he did have was the worst Oline he’s ever played behind and the worst set of receivers and TEs he’s ever had to throw to except for Edelman. And still threw for over 4000 yards and was 7th in passing, 3:1 TD to INT rating.

  14. Brady coming to Vegas is probably not happening, but Carr is by no means a safe bet to be back either.

I think you didn’t pay much attention to the real statistics last year if you think the Pats defense was “historic”

They put up some gaudy numbers early against the absolutely lowest ranked offenses in the league. In the end… What was it that stopped them? Inability to stop the run against the Titans

    Historic? Not so much

  16. He’s got nothing left in the tank. So glad my Jets have their QB for the next 12 years and not involved in this circus. Belicheat is correct to try to move on. And any of these pretend contenders who believe that a) Tom will play for them and b) that he will bring their team to the promised land are sadly mistaken. I am really surprised anyone cares about TB the player any longer.

  17. Who says they weren’t speaking? What’s strange is people making things up in their head.that aren’t even true.

Who’s making things up… the reporters? They are only saying what’s coming out of Brady’s and Bill’s camps. Someone is leaking this info. It’s not the fans!

  18. We have all the patience in the world. Take a decade to make your choice and have a team overpay for your declining skills.

  19. The Raiders are such a dumpster fire franchise. Let’s trade away top tier talent on both sides of the ball and focus on the draft.

42 year old, slow and fragile QB hits FA:>>>>>>>>>ALL focus on this guy!

I don’t even feel bad for Raiders fans, they’re fan base is probably the most annoying in the entire NFL. Sending trash messages from prison, lol.

  20. The Pats didn’t beat any team that scored more than 17 pts last year. Tom is not the only problem in New England.
