Updated Tom Brady odds show 49ers rising

The previous odds posted regarding Tom Brady‘s 2020 destination didn’t include the 49ers as a potential wagering option. The latest odds do.

Via ESPN.com, the Westgate Superbook has installed the 49ers at 12-1 to land the six-time Super Bowl winner.

The Patriots remain the favorite to keep Brady, at 1-2. Which suggests that whoever sets these odds really isn’t paying attention like they should be. But at least they’re paying close enough attention to get the 49ers on the board.

The Titans have 9-2 odds, followed by the Raiders at 8-1 and the Chargers at 8-1.

The Colts are the next team behind the 49ers at 14-1, along with the Bucs. “No snap taken” lands at 30-1 (that should be at least 1,000-1).

Then comes the pie-in-the-sky, piss-away-your-money fun, with the Cowboys at 80-1, the Bears, Dolphins, Panthers, and Broncos at 100-1, the Lions at 200-1, the Rams, Falcons, Jaguars, at Giants at 300-1, the Browns, Jets, Bills, Steelers, and Washington at 500-1, the Bengals, Vikings, Cardinals, Eagles, Texans, and Saints at 1,000-1, the Seahawks, Packers, and Ravens at 5,000-1.

The John Mellencamp wins an Oscar prize goes to the Chiefs, who are at 10,000-1 long shot to land Brady.

As to the Chiefs, I’ll repeat the line Nick Wright used last week when I visited his how on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio: If Brady truly wants to win a Super Bowl in 2020, he should sign with the Chiefs. And back up Patrick Mahomes.

  1. All this tells you is people are betting on Brady going to the Niners. Bookmakers have to adjust their odds to make a profit, not because something is more/less likely to happen.

  2. He’s not going to go anyplace that doesn’t give him a realistic shot at winning. That eliminates the Raiders, Chargers, Titans, and Bucs. It’s between the Pats and 9ers, which means he’s coming back to the Pats…

  3. “Which suggests that whoever sets these odds really isn’t paying attention like they should be.”

Says someone who doesn’t understand how betting odds are set. THEY DON’T CARE WHERE HE’S GOING. The ONLY criteria is to spread the money bets evenly so they make their set percentage.

  4. He should just retire. He would be a downgrade for the Niners. They can use their money to make their team better in other ways. I’d rather sign AJ Green and keep the free agents we could potentially lose.

  5. Can’t believe that SF would be so stupid to trade a 28-yr old QB they went to the SB with in his first full year as a starter, and could reasonably be expected to improve, for a 43-yr old QB who may or may not have made one throw in a championship game?! And who will be a year older, not getting better, and in a new system with a new team. Makes zero sense.

  6. “IF” Brady goes anywhere, it will be to the Cowboys and even then, it will only be if he takes AB with him. That is the splash play that Jerry LOVES.

  7. “He should just retire. ”

People keep posting that ridiculous comment and I’m not sure if its just cause they hate Brady, are uninformed about how he played last season, or both.

He was 7th in the league in passing with over 4000 yards and 3:1 TD to INT ratio. That was 7th in the league in passing with the worst Oline he’s ever had in front of him and the worst receiver / TE set he’s ever had except for Edelman.

So are you suggesting that not only Brady but all 25 starting QBs who played worse than Brady should retire? Because by your logic they should SMH

  8. Brady was 7th in yards because he was 4th in passing attempts. His QB rating was 19th.

  9. 49ers players are all starting to come out in favor of Jimmy G. But who knows, maybe five more unsourced articles about Brady coming to the 49ers will move the odds all the way to 10 to 1.

Yeah like Tom Brady really wants to go to Santa Clara?

Better than playing for Jerruh in Arlington.

  12. Keep it simple. The reason Manning was so highly recruited after Indy was many believed they would win a Super Bowl and they (Denver) did. Thousands of players and coaches never win a SB which was their goal to accomplish. So if you ask yourself in the next two years, only, will the 49ers win a SB with Brady or Jimmy G? The answer is obvious. So when the Niners management is sitting at the table years later talking about what is was like to win a championship they will never think but we gave up some “potential” good value to do so. They achieved their goal!

  13. The bears and titans are the best fit for him. Why would the Bears miss out on a chance to move on from Mitch? In much the same way the Broncos moved on from Tebowmania with Peyton, the Bears could justify moving on from Mitch by bringing in Brady.

  14. Recent tornadoes in Nashville probably have Giselle putting the nix on moving the kids there.
