Seahawks send scouts to see P.J. Walker

Quarterback P.J. Walker is playing very well for the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks. The NFL’s Seahawks have Geno Smith as their No. 2 quarterback. Understandably, the Seahawks are taking a look at Walker.

Steve Levy said at the outset of Saturday’s game between the Seattle Dragons and Roughnecks that the Seahawks have sent scouts to the game in Houston to take a closer look at Walker.

Walker will be available to sign with an NFL team after Houston’s season ends. Given that they are the only unbeaten team in the XFL, Houston could be playing until the last weekend of the XFL season, which ends with a championship one day after the conclusion of the NFL draft.

The Seattle Dragons currently lead Houston, 6-0. For only the second time in 15 quarters played this year, the Roughnecks didn’t score.

  1. Packers have some guy name Boyd. They should be exploring all options under $1.5M to compete. Rodgers is no Favre when it comes to injury and he think he got another year older.

  2. He had a good first half. 12/16 for 187 and a TD. Like how he gets the ball out quick with some zip on it. Definitely fun to watch…

  3. Actually, about a dozen players from the XFL will get chance to sign with NFL right after this season. Soon; fans will be calling for a PFF type of ranking system. Some sort of ranking board would be fun to see developed.

  4. Seattle could put a dart team on tv and it would be interesting. Anybody still question if the SuperSonics leaving was a total inside job?

  5. If Walker is smart he’ll wait for an opportunity to go to an NFL team that could have an open competition for a starting job, like perhaps back to Indianapolis or reuniting with his old college HC Matt Rhule in Carolina. While I’m sure the money for a back up in the NFL is much better than starter money in XFL I think it’d be a hard sell for a guy like Walker to go to Seattle to back up Russell Wilson with 0 chance of ever getting to start.

  6. Pete Carroll without Russell Wilson gets fired right now. Russell Wilson without Pete Carroll puts up better stats and wins even more. Why cant anyone else see this? The Seahawks are in a garbage bin and once the 4th quarter hits, their star pulls them out.

I agree. As a fan of the sport, and even as a Seahawk fan I would love to see Wilson traded to a team with a real offense and OC just to see what kind of numbers he can put up.
