The Dolphins are continuing to build out their defense on Tuesday.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus told PFT that his client Emmanuel Ogbah has agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Dolphins. Ogbah gets $7.5 million fully guaranteed.

The defensive end joins linebacker Kyle Van Noy, cornerback Byron Jones, safety Clayton Fejedelem and pass rusher Shaq Lawson as new additions to the defense in Miami.

Ogbah was traded from the Browns to the Chiefs last April, but he missed the final weeks of the regular season and the team’s run to a Super Bowl title after tearing his pectoral. He had 32 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 10 games.

In addition to the defensive moves, the Dolphins have also agreed to a deal with guard Ereck Flowers as they reshape their team ahead of head coach Brian Flores’ second season in Miami.

  1. Even the shutdown of basically the entire country can’t stop my Dolphins from making horrible moves. At least they are consistent.

  2. This reply is for fishfan77. Since when is building a defense equal horrible moves. They needed DE and pass rushers they picked up 3 of them. They needed help in the secondary and got the best CB on the market. And they signed players that were all under the age of 30. This team ranked dead last in defense last year. Much rather throw smaller amounts of money and a bunch of just solid players. Then break the back for the top pass rusher on the market. All you need are solid pass rushers if your secondary is great. Which Miami’s is with Jones and Howard at CB and then Needham will be great in the slot.

  3. I do not see anything wrong with any of the moves Miami has made. I think each one is bringing value so they can use the draft picks on other players. No chance we take an edge rusher in the draft now.
So probably a QB, RB and LT
Probably some depth on the OL and DL also
The trades and free agency isn’t over for Miami either. Will be a strong team this upcoming season too.

  4. This draft will make or break Chris Grier as he has tons of cap room and 5 draft picks in 2 rounds. If Grier and Flores work well together in how they want this team to be built I would say they will win this division outright in 2 years. At this point drafting a QB isn’t needed if that OLine if fixed in this year’s draft. I expect a hidden gem for QB that no one has seen yet….or so I hope!

  5. Didn’t see enough of him before the injury to say for sure but even being a parttimer on a SB winning squad will get you paid.

Good Luck Mr. Ogbah and thanks for the Lombardi!

  6. Ogbah was coming along quite well in KC before his injury. He wasn’t a flashy player but held up his end and made some plays. I was looking forward to him coming back to KC and being a rotation guy.

Solid player, good luck in Miami!
