Kendrick Bourne will be back with 49ers

The 49ers tendered wide receiver Kendrick Bourne as a restricted free agent last month and Bourne won’t be looking for a deal with another team.

Field Yates of ESPN reports that Bourne has signed his tender with the team. Bourne was tendered at the second-round level, which sets him up to make $3.27 million this year.

Bourne appeared in 11 games as an undrafted rookie and has not missed a game over the last two seasons. He had 30 catches for 358 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season and six catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. The touchdown came in the team’s 27-10 win over the Vikings.

Bourne joins Deebo Samuel, Jalen Hurd, Marquise Goodwin, Dante Pettis, Trent Taylor and Richie James as holdovers at receiver from last season. Travis Benjamin signed with the team as a free agent.

  1. KB is solid. Glad to hear he’ll be back.

Still need to draft another WR in the draft. Anyone of the 3 Jeudy, Lamb, Ruggs would be nice at #13 if not then definitely a WR at pick #31

  2. Love him to make the crazy catch but too often he drops the easy pass.Classic case of taking his eye off the ball to start his YAC.

  3. Doubt they will spend #13 on WR (Unless by miracle Lamb still there) as we all know what a crap shoot drafting a WR high Round #1 history goes…..not very well. Think they go DT at #13 and see what remains at #31 (maybe go with a stud DB)….maybe pull a Steeler move and find a WR in later rounds. WR’s R1 just not ever seen much success.

  4. I see them drafting an OT replacement for Staley or another DT at 13. But they do need help at wideout. Too many unknowns coming back from IR to stand pat.

  5. Hurd could be the wild card. On IR all last year. Dude has all of the tangibles, size, speed, RAC, etc. Plus they get Trent Taylor back as well

And then there’s Pettis. What to make of him?

Lynch has his work cut out trying to piece this group together. I don’t like taking WR’s early in the first round, especially when they need to eventually replace Staley. Plus they need a CB to replace Sherman

This draft might be a “trade down” fest for SF since they have no 2nd-4th round picks currently… I’d be ok with that
