The Saints have dropped guard Larry Warford onto the open market. The Bears have dropped their pursuit of him.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears are not pursuing the three-time Pro Bowler.

It’s unclear whether the Bears were ever officially in on the chase for Warford. They reportedly were considering it. Regardless, they currently are not.

The Texans also have been linked to the 28-year-old Warford, a third-round pick of the Lions in 2013. Warford signed with the Saints in 2017. He started 44 of 48 regular-season games in New Orleans, with five playoff starts.

  1. i bet he will be had for fairly cheap otherwise someone wouldve given the saints a pick and picked up his fairly large contract

  2. He is gonna bank.

Teams in need of interior line help will have to sign him to a long contract to make the numbers work against the cap.

Actually the saints did him a solid. The Texans need him and they overpay everyone that the don’t give the hell away.

Oh he only had one year left on that contract so not much in trade value.

  3. The Bears are more focused on bringing in 20 kickers than improving their offensive line.

  4. The Bears are no longer in pursuit of a guard in which is it unknown if they ever were in pursuit of in the first place. Basically this news maybe noteworthy if in fact it was noteworthy to begin with which in fact we do not know.

  5. Bears should go to Japan and bring back a couple of Heavy Weight Sumo Wrestlers for the offensive line.

  6. You want to be a passing team, you need the protection and not a turnstile offensive line.

  7. I hope the Redskins take a look at him. We have Cap space and Left Guard is a need on our O-Line.

  8. This is by far one of the most irritating things I have seen this offseason. The bears are in desperate need to upgrade the already weak offensive line. Why wouldn’t they sign this guy to help with the run game. This is crazy and frustrates the heck out of me being a bears fan. Getting close to the straw that broke the camels back.

Ryan Pace needs to go. He really does. Keep Nagy and get someone else to get the players

Are you even paying attention? He did reach for him, but it may have been impacted by the fact that if Warford was available sooner rather than later. All the other offensive line moves Pace has made this off season has pretty much pushed them out of the chase.

Pace drafted two O-Linemen and signed two vets: Ifedi and Spriggs. That’s four NEW offensive lineman that I know of off the top of my head. Whether you like those moves or not there’s nothing you can do about it. The life of a Bear’s fan can be frustrating, if you let it.

Truer words have not been spoken.

  11. I don’t even know the Bears anymore. The other team that likes ex Saints is Atlanta…
