The Dolphins continue to work through their 11-man draft class, signing another rookie.

Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Blake Ferguson signed his four-year contract.

The long snapper from LSU was their sixth-round pick, and their fourth pick to sign his deal.

They had previously signed fourth-rounder Solomon Kindley and fifth-rounders Jason Strowbridge and Curtis Weaver.

  1. Who Drafts a Long Snapper? Um, how about a team that had 14 picks after losing a Pro-Bowl LS snapper that played the position for over 13 years previously for the Fins. How about a player from LSU that ranks as the #1 LS in the past 3 years, a Team Captain, Academic Honor Roll, the #1 HS Recruit at his position and a brother with the Buffalo Bills who ranks as one of the best.

So I don’t know… Who drafts a Kicker?, Who Drafts a Punter? Perhaps you should go back to your highly paid NFL GM Job and not worry so much about the Dolphins.

  2. Mommas, let your babies grow up to be Miami Dolphins Long Snappers. Congratulations to Blake Ferguson for scoring what’s probably the best job in professional sports. John Denny was able to hold onto it for 13 years. And as a 6th round pick, he’s scheduled to make somewhere in the mid 600’s.

  3. crazy that Ferguson got drafted but Thaddeus Moss and Michael Divinity went undrafted from that Lsu team. All excellent players, but I didn’t think Ferguson was going to be one of the 14 Lsu players drafted.

  4. Out of all the champions on the lsu team, they only draft the long snapper. Great strategy Chris grier.
