Tom Brady working out with Bucs teammates at Tampa school

AP

Tom Brady has finally put on his Buccaneers helmet.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Brady led a small group of teammates through a two-hour workout at a local school.

He was wearing an orange practice jersey over shoulder pads and his Bucs helmet as they worked out at Berkeley Preparatory School.

Wide receiver Mike Evans and center Ryan Jensen were among the players there, as they get used to a new quarterback. Brady apparently walked Evans through some routes, as they get to know each other’s abilities and preferences.

Also at the workout were wide receiver Scotty Miller, tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin, and running back Dare Ogunbowale.

The school is closed to students, and the new Bucs quarterback got through without incident. He’s already been chased out of a public park and surprised a local homeowner when he walked into the wrong house while looking for offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

  1. Given Brady’s advanced age, I hope he is wearing a mask out there.

Seriously though, I am glad to see things beginning to return to normal- especially football. Fingers crossed that this all works out.

  2. Out of sheer reflex, twitter writers, fans of most of the other teams, the Commissioner, and most of the owners began lobbying for the Patriots to lose draft picks, and demanding Belichick be suspended for life.

  3. Kuddos Brady. The American people have spoken! The American people are ending this shutdown.

  4. All of you Tom Brady jock sniffers are going to get the shock of your life when the Bucs don’t even win the division. And if it wasn’t for the league adding an additional wildcard team in each conference, the Bucs wouldn’t even make the playoffs. And the Bucs WILL get swept by the Saints.

This isn’t that weak AFC east division anymore Mr. Brady. Your in a division (conference) with real teams now. Not like the AFC where the only other consistent team has been the Steelers.

  5. Tom Brady is going downhill fast! Hanging out at parks and high schools and entering a dwelling.

  6. Jakobi Meyers and N’Keal Harry are still waiting for their offseason workout with Tom. No time for that silliness apparently.

Even if the Saints make the playoffs, Drew Brees will choke the game away again like he did the past two seasons.

  8. Tom Brady always struggled when playing in Miami in the early Fall and I think a lot of it had to do with the heat. Be interesting to see how he performs in the Tampa Bay heat.

Were the teams the Patriots beat in the playoffs and Super Bowls all in the weak AFC East? Just asking!

  10. pretty much projectile puke worthy, all Brady stories these days.

Did he hawk his immunity snake-oilto his mates after the practice?

  11. We are going to find that Brady was the magician in New England. I still cannot believe they let him walk. He’s not the GOAT for nothing.

  12. Oh this is going to drive the haters crazy…Brady is working out with his new receivers, and chumps like Dak are busy having parties and cookouts….This warrants a league investigation doesn’t it? Why is Brady working out when he should be working on his next Instagram video, or perhaps he should be putting on a fashion show with cute hats and stuff

  13. Not a Brady guy nor a Patriots fan but you get a sense as to why this guy became undeniably great — he works his ass off.

You do know Brady had a session with Harry last offseason after the draft. They actually had OTAs and stuff to look forward to last season, this year they’re starting off themselves. Stop being salty.

I could not agree more. I am on record for this x10 on here. Brady, not Belichick, garners at least 2/3rds of the credit between the two.

That said, this TB12 crap really ruins his legacy for his biggest fans here in New England. Completely cheapens his accomplishments and comes off as so televangelist, tone-deaf, preachy and superior. How does he not see this?

  16. Old Brady doing young Brady training commitments…… he blew off OTA’s in NewEngland because he wanted to spend more time with his family….. guess he’s gotten a little tired of hanging with them now…..
Perhaps if he committed to his young receivers & new teammates In New England like he now is in Tampa, he wouldn’t of struggled as much on chemistry with them…..
Guess he really did check out after 2018 season up north…. looks like he found a spark down south…..I know the Patriots did with Stidham…. He’s hungry like Brady use to be….. Should be gun watching them BOTH take advantage & the most of their new opportunities….

Very few teams have suffered like the Steelers at the hands of Brady. True and utter dominance. You must have blocked it out due to the sheer trauma.

The AFC East has done much better.

    Exactly.

Don’t know why those idiots give so much credits to a coach who never talk to his QB and WR on sideline, except high fives.

Belichick will be exposed and those idiots will be exposed because without a QB who has the skills to run cheap short slot receivers into play makers, Belichick will win nothing.

  20. Pats players : we have Tom Brady.
Players from the other side field : they have Tom Brady.

Systematically born “system” idiot : we have Belichick.

  21. To all the people who think the Pats are done now:

Belichick went 11-5 with Matt Freaking Cassel at QB.

He went 3-1 with Jimmy G and a rookie Jacoby Brissett.

We already know what Bill can do without Brady, the only question is what Brady can do without Bill.

Brady deserves the benefit of the doubt, but evaluating Bill without Brady is just a simple matter of looking at the W/L record. Could it be – wait for it – that they are both great at what they do?

Brady faced one pro bowl qbs in his tenure in the AFC East. It was Chad Pennington. Patriots favoritism from the refs like the tuck rule is a reason why they have been successful. Belichicks multiple cheating infractions should of had him kicked out of the league. But amazingly he hasn’t missed a game.

Meanwhile Brady skipped OTAs and didn’t spend any extra time with his young receivers in NE for about 6 years running, but go ahead and believe the hype that he’s all about the TEAM. Ya right

Brady’s record against the NFC South is 12-4. Sort of blows your logic out of the water doesn’t it?

Cassel took a team that won 18 games and won 11 with no playoffs. We wouldn’t be celebrating a qb that won 4 or 5 games following an 11 or 12 win season. Cassel also ended up having a few decent seasons with the Chiefs and even made the pro bowl.

Garoppolo and Brissett have both been starters so they have a little talent. Belichick also had Bledsoe. And his tenure in Cleveland. He’s won nothing and barely made the playoffs without Brady.

Brady was the system. No players are gonna come on the cheap to play for Belichick now. They were coming to try and win with Brady there but getting cheap veteran talent is over for NE. Belichick better hit homeruns drafting or open up the bank to pay stars cause without Brady their no one is signing for cheap.

Pats will be lucky to win 6 games this season. If they do win 6 or more than Stidham is a keeper. But if he’s anything below very good the Pats are having a bad season.

  26. Belichick went 11-5 with Matt Freaking Cassel at QB.

    ————————

To those idiots who love playing Matt Cassel card:

The schedule in 2008 was as easy as that in the first half of 2019 season that Jets, Bills and Phins won 19 out of 30 against non AFCE teams. 2008 season actually proved that without Brady, Pats were just another AFCE team, even with Moss.

BTW, the WR group in 2008 was the best Brady ever had in his career, the WR group in 2019 was the worst or 2nd worst (after 2006) Brady ever had. Are you claiming that Brady had a great season in 2019?

  27. He went 3-1 with Jimmy G and a rookie Jacoby Brissett.

    ———————————-

    Seems idiots never get it:

it is not if Belichick can find a good or even great QB, it is what Belichick will do to build a talented group around the QB.

In general, a QB needs TWO top tier play makers to produce a top 5 offense; a QB needs TWO top tier play makers to be able to score 24-31 points in back to back playoff games, plus an O-line that can hold 4+ seconds, that is something Belichick will never give to his QB.

In other word, Pats wouldn’t be a SB contender with any other QB, then Belichick’s “Patriots way”, or “my way or high way”, or “cheap, no-fun-at-all” way will fall apart immediately, and the team will get worse and worse.

The only hope you have is one-year wonder from your QB.

  28. Somehow a post about the Bucs turned into a thread with multiple posts from people still scared to death of the New England Patriots, the Greatest NFL Dynasty of All-Time.

    As they should be.

  29. Brady “settled” to play in the NFC South. What he really wanted was a division made up of 4 Pittsburgh Steelers teams and the Bucanneers, because that would give him the best chance of winning the division, as well as the Conference Championship should one of the Pittsburgh Steelers teams make it that far as a wild card.

  30. Bill has a losing record without Brady, for the 100th time. Cleveland made the playoffs 5 of 6 years prior to Belichick. Then he has losing record there over 5 years, made the playoffs once, but the only thing BB backers seem to remember is “last to win playoff game”. He was fired in Cleveland. Brady will not have a losing record without Bill
