Eagles’ Lane Johnson, DeSean Jackson hoping for a LeSean McCoy return

With reports that the Eagles would consider bringing running back LeSean McCoy back to Philadelphia, a couple of current Eagles are hoping to see it.

Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson and wide receiver DeSean Jackson had a conversation on Johnson’s Instagram live show about their desire to play with McCoy again.

I want to see it,” Johnson said about a McCoy reunion, via NJ.com. “You already know how I feel.”

Jackson agreed, saying that if the decision were up to him, McCoy would have already been brought back to Philadelphia.

“If we were going off how we feel, there would have been a lot of [expletive] we would have already been seeing, right?” Jackson said.

The 31-year-old McCoy had a career-low 465 rushing yards last season and may not have much gas left in the tank, but if he’s going to keep playing, a return to his original team could be in the cards. His teammates would certainly welcome it.

  1. That would be crazy if they ended up with LeSean McCoy hes been everywhere recently.

  2. McCoy 31, Jackson 33, Johnson 30, This is what im talking about. Brady, Brees, Big Ben .. . Rogers … 30 is new 25 in the NFL. Teams need that veteran experience to mix with the younger players. If you can still help a team and contribute then im all for it.

  3. Why do old, washed up retreads like McCoy and A. Peterson keep getting signed? Young, fresh running backs are a dime a dozen these days.

  4. hey jacked up…he won a Super Bowl and was on his way to MVP before getting hurt.

I wouldnt use the term washed up unless they are no longer producing. These young kids need that veteran leadership and knowledge. Why keep targeting just the RB position? If at 30 you can still help a team great, as a relief player give your team 500 rushing and 200 receiving. Remember Jerry Rice? The guy just kept embarrassing young dbs.

  6. People disparage McCoy but why?
He did have limited snaps with Kansas City but his insight in regards to the NFL was highly valued among the younger players during the Chiefs run to the Superbowl.

He’s not the Shady of yesteryear with his huge yards per carry average and the ability to slip away from multiple tackles but having him on the team as the 3rd string back would prove valuable on many levels

Those guys are qb and they are playing at a high level of you like starting 5-6 every year with Wentz keep on bringing back losers like DeSean Jackson and McCoy you couldn’t win with them when they were in their prime

  8. If the goal is to have another non playoff win year with Wentz then bring back mccoy

  9. Benny, we have many more seasons with winning records than losing records. You’re jealous, admit it… 🏆

All the way to the bank. Unlike you.

  11. Db105, I don’t know about Lane but I’m tickled pink watching this Super Bowl contending team come together…

  12. Eagles had Brian Westbrook who was great and than Shady McCoy took his job who was great. Philli has done a good job knowing when they are done with a running back and having drafted there replacement seamlessly. They kind of tried to glue some pieces at the RB position lately and that may be whats holding them back. Seems like these older Eagles just want there friend back at work over getting the best out of there RB room.

I get it and the argument is at any position if a player still has legs and health back and can contribute as a role player while providing veteran leadership then why not? I dont want to see my NFL team full of college players or full of 3 year starters with no leadership or guidance. You need that mix. What you would take 3 rbs all less then 3 years into their NFL careers just to say BECAUSE we are Young? Djax still has speed, but yes I understand that your core starters can not be 30 plus at every position if they lost a step. But your role players are so important for every team. This notion well because he is 30 and should retire is hog wash.

  14. @that knuckle head

Wentz May never win a SuperBowl. But the other night he proved he’s a Winner and a Decent Human Being.

Because he’s a toxic bad character guy

  16. Die hard eagles fan here but I’d have to pass on mccoy. I’d rather have a bigger, younger back who can possibly play special teams.

  17. This is rather pathetic. These 30 something guys have not yet figured out that their time is past and that the Eagles are decaying before our very eyes. The future rests with the young. Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Dwayne Haskins Terry MacLaren, Derrius Guice and the Redskins will be running circles around the Eagles as part of the new world order and I am totally fine that.

First step to winning is Stop liking your own posts. Second is the the only thing that Redskins will be running circles around is the drainage again. Weather a YOUNG basement or an veteran basement its still a Redskins basement. I may not like the Eagles but at least we battle! Battle for the title battle for bragging rights and battle for respect. So next time that you post a dig at US first dig your azzes out of the cellar!

  19. No NO older running backs want more money because its there job and in there head they have worked for there company so long they thing they deserve it. Maybe they think there knowledge is worth millions but it’s not becuase offenses change all the time. RB’s are a dime a dozen, draft one, work him to the ground for 3 years than get another one in the draft. 31 lol really

  20. The Blues Brothers. We have to get the old band back together. What’s Dick Vermeil doing these days?

  21. I like Shady but if he couldn’t excel in KC’s offense why would he great in Philly?

  22. I’m impressed with your lack of bias & sensibility, I’m not sure I fully agree that 25 is the new 30, especially for a position like RB but overall, you make a lot of sense

Still cant read I see. Basement is dark and you havent seen the light in years. maybe a candle?

  25. Nostalgia is recognized Mental Disorder. Those three, plus Jason Peters aka my knee hurts so summon the meat wagon are not the ticket for a return to Super Bowl. Those fans who hang onto their Walkmans, VCRs, Floppy Discs, and Studebakers are gonna be disappointed if they bring that quartet back.

  26. Serious question – whatever happened with McCoy girlfriend that was all beat up? Seemed questionable but never saw a resolution. I mean I know that domestic abuse is not as important as possibly intentionally deflated footballs or smoking weed but it just seems to go away.

Also is Lane’s ankle going to be ready for training camp? Never saw a guy out for so long with a twisted ankle. But he’s probably having fun

  27. When they bring him back I hope its just a 1 day contract so he can retire an Eagle. I love the guys play and hate Chip for ruining his Eagles career, but he isn’t helping his legacy as the best Eagles RB in history playing here again.

  28. McCoy’s stats last year

    101 465 4 24 39 4.6 Not bad

Those who say Wentz will never win a SB? He already has

McCoy will be getting his ring soon from the Chiefs. We all should remember that he didn’t play and was a healthy scratch. I don’t know if he’ll treasure that ring, but probably. I will say he would probably like it a lot more if he played or was at least in uniform.
So as it pertains to Wentz, he got a ring and didn’t play. Kind of like Jeff Laurie’s personal assistant. You must play in a SB to win one, and as a QB, you must start and/or lead your team to victory to ‘win’ one.
