Kareem Hunt still loves the Chiefs, happy to see them win the Super Bowl

Browns running back Kareem Hunt was cut by the Chiefs when video surfaced of him kicking a woman. He has said in the past that he regrets that it caused him to miss being part of last year’s Super Bowl team, but he said on Monday that he was able to enjoy watching the game and cheering on his former teammates.

Hunt said he cares too much about his old coaches and teammates not to be happy for them.

“I’ve been moved on from that,” Hunt said, via the Akron Beacon Journal. “But I love those guys. I’ve got brothers on that team. I came in with a lot of those players. I love the coaches there. They’re all good people and they deserved it, and I’m happy for them. I talk to a lot of them, and I’m very happy for them. They’re champs. They deserve it. I know how hard that team works and how hard they stress to be great.”

It would be hard not to view moving from the Chiefs to the Browns as a step down, but Hunt says he’s happy where he is.

  1. The fans still love Kareem in KC. like to see him back in KC wearing a Chiefs uniform for the next SB.
    Good guy.

  2. Take for granted that Kareem Hunt grew up a Browns fan so he is playing on the team he was rooting for and his family was rooting for. Main reason he is happy playing here.

    Good Guy?????? Really??? That’s Hilarious.

  4. Completely different tune talking to the media instead of him pleading to the officer who pulled him over the week prior to the superbowl. He was very upset that he wasn’t playing pleading he was a victim.

  5. He’s a stud on the football field. Really a game changer who is top 5 at his position on the right team. But off the field, he’s got self destructive tendencies and character issues that cannot be resolved by being ON a football field earning millions and being adored by worshiping fans.

I was in his corner originally but after the traffic stop, I realized that yes everyone deserves a second chance, but a third? How about a fourth? How many will he require to keep? Nobody has time for drama…

  6. This guy should be watching football behind bars, not playing. Along with all the other lowlife woman and child beaters. Adrian Peterson. Frank Clark. Dal vin cook. Tyreek hill. Joe mixon. Etc.etc. Etc.

  7. Kind of ridiculous that the guy who shoved a belligerent drunk woman who called him racist names got the boot while the guy who beat up his pregnant girlfriend and abused their child gets a Super Bowl ring.

The court of public opinion is an idiotic court.

That he did it was not the reason for his release… That he LIED when there was clear video evidence that he did is the reason for his release. Tyreek never lied to the team, and investigations bore that out.
