Mike Mayock: Excitement level at all-time high in new facility

The Raiders opened the doors of their new facility in Henderson, Nevada to coaches and other employees on Monday and General Manager Mike Mayock’s initial review of the digs was quite positive.

Mayock called it a “magnificent building” that will take some time getting used to because it is so different from the Raiders’ former facility in California. Mayock noted the amount of meeting space, quality of the food and “first-class” treatment areas as some of the highlights.

After three months of working remotely, Mayock also extolled the virtues of being back with co-workers.

“And all that was cool and it was awesome, but there’s nothing like the energy you have when you’re together,” Mayock said, via Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Then you combine that with the energy of the new building and everybody’s so excited. It’s really cool. . . . Just state of the art everything. I think our energy excitement level is at an all time high.”

Getting players into the facility will be the next big step for the Raiders and that’s scheduled to happen when training camp gets underway next month.

  1. I bet it is an AMAZING facility. I cannot wait to get out there to catch a Raiders / Packers game. That place is going to be a gold mine for the Raider franchise. Congrats to that fan base. If you build it – they will come.

  2. Remember all those small minded people who said it wouldn’t work in Vegas?

    Good times.

    One nation, Raider Nation.

  3. i bet you he is excited, that old stadium was like an outhouse after a crew of construction workers had a party.

  4. that practice facility is better than most stadiums in the NFL, especially that team in western New York

  5. We give a lot of grief to Mark Davis. Yet kudos to him for getting a world class facility and stadium complete. No way would he have obtained that in California.

  6. Amazing how an 8-9 team will be the envy of the NFL. A new stadium isnt going to fix your O line or the noodle arm QB you have.

  7. Never thought I’d see the day that the Raiders would have a premier stadium in the NFL. Hopefully the Raiders can return to being a premier franchise again as well! It’s been far too long overdue.

I don’t think you need to qualify western New York. The Bils are the only pro football team that NY has.

  9. Mark Davis is under the radar, but he’s right up at the top of the best owners in the NFL.
He has all the right pieces in place. I predict he joins his dad in the HOF.
