Ezekiel Elliott feeling good after testing positive for COVID-19

It was over a week ago that word of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott testing positive for COVID-19 broke and Elliott provided an update on his health Wednesday.

Elliott said that he is feeling well generally during a conversation with Scooter Magruder on Twitch, but isn’t yet able to resume working out. Elliott said that he expects to take another test next week to see if he’s now negative for the coronavirus.

“I’m feeling good,” Elliott said. “I would say I had maybe one or two days when I felt symptoms. Even then, it wasn’t too bad. I had a cough and a little bit of shortness of breath. Now, I would say I feel good. I feel normal.”

There were reports that other Cowboys and Texans players tested positive around the time that news of Elliott’s status went public, but no others have been named.

  1. These are world-class athletes in the prime of their lives. If anyone can shirk off Coronavirus with minimal suffering, it’s them.

  2. He had the flu.. close everything and lockdown the nation until a vaccine!

    See how crazy that sounds?

    __________

    Actually, if he had the flu he would have felt a lot worse.

  4. If you are a smoker of any kind, you will experience symptoms if you contract COVID 19. It doesn’t matter if you are a world class athlete.

  5. The death rate is insignificant, even mild symptoms can cause long term to permanent damage to organs especially the lungs with scarring. So for Zeke if there is damage to his lungs his career most likely would be over with the reduction of ability of his lungs to absorb oxygen and quick fatigue. The flu does not cause lung scarring, only true idiots compare it to covid. This is why most smart people are still adhering to social distancing and wearing masks the dumb ones are not.

  6. Nice to hear that Elliott is feeling better. But he ain’t gonna be feeling too good when he runs into Chase Young and Montez Sweat this fall. Just sayin’. #facts

    Actually, those that shirk off Covid-19 better than anyone are small children. They suffer minor if any symptoms if they get it, and are much less likely than adults to get it when exposed.

  8. He’s feeling good because for healthy people who don’t have underlying health issues it’s nothing more than that – THE FLU

  9. Party at Dak’s this weekend, gotta help celebrate that new contract baby! Invite everyone you know!

  10. He had the flu.. close everything and lockdown the nation until a vaccine!

    Almost as crazy as leading the world in deaths from this “flu” (over 100k) in the span of 3 months!

  11. Same experience I had. He’s got it over with now. I bet his odds on winning the rushing crown just went up since we know he won’t get Rona’d during the season.

  12. So, I see a lot of debunked info being casually spread around here, like comparisons between Covid-19 and the flu, or the belief that once you have recovered from Covid-19 you are now immune. Neither is true. Wear the damn mask.

    It’s almost as if the fatality rate for those under the age of 65 is 0.01%.
    ==========================================================================================
    Wonder what the rate is for those that spread to their family members.

  14. Have you noticed that everyone is testing positive, few are getting sick, and next to no one is dying?

  15. 95% of people with coronavirus don’t even know they have it. Why are people so scared? Probably the hype and hysteria created by the media. I am surprised Zeke isn’t being ridiculed because he said he only sneezed a few times and coughed once because.of it.

    So, he recovered, along with 99.5% of all the other people who’ve had it…

    ==================
    5.2 percent die so that would make 94.8%. 45% of hospitalized COVID patients will require on going medical care (long term disability both physical and mental). Lung scarring is just one thing that people may have to live with.

    But by all means let’s make fun of a serious pandemic because the 18-30 yr old crowd don’t normally show symptoms and just spread it to everyone else.

  17. That sounds serious if he cannot work out. Some people also have symptoms that would not go away completely. Permanent lung damage is also possible.

  18. I would say I had maybe one or two days when I felt symptoms. Even then, it wasn’t too bad. I had a cough and a little bit of shortness of breath. Now, I would say I feel good. I feel normal.

    Multiply that by ohh…. 5,206,274 (91%) Recovered / Discharged

    That is wishful thinking. There has been no scientific proof at this time that having it once makes you immune to having it again.
