Tom Brady tells Julian Edelman: I will always be your #1

Tom Brady and the Patriots went through an amicable divorce this offseason. The quarterback left for the Buccaneers.

The Patriots have had a resolve to prove they can win without Brady, and they now have Cam Newton as their quarterback.

While Brady is gone, he doesn’t want to be forgotten.

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman expressed his excitement at having Newton as his quarterback with a social media post.

Brady replied on Instagram: “I will always be your #1” and added a smiley face.

An NFL report earlier this offseason indicated Edelman was motivated by the Patriots’ diminished expectations with the departure of Brady. The receiver may have even more fuel in his fire now.

He also now has a more accomplished quarterback than he had last week.

  1. Brady’s getting freaky, fast!
He’s bummin’ that Bill got himself a QB.
    Good riddance, Tom.
    Go Pats!

  2. More proof he wants it to be all about himself! I’ll always love tb12 but hes not the same kid we watched grow up belichick knew saw that he couldn’t keep him grounded anymore.

  3. What’s not to like about Brady? He’s 43, the GOAT and still loves the game and his old teammates.

Everyone should be fortunate to have such love and devotion to their work.

  4. I was wondering who that guy with the beard I saw running down RT 95S screaming “I’m coming Tom” over and over was.

  5. More proof he wants it to be all about himself! I’ll always love tb12 but hes not the same kid we watched grow up belichick knew saw that he couldn’t keep him grounded anymore.

Or he’s just joking around with a friend and people are overthinking it.

  6. Perhaps the Patriots will have an opportunity to win their first playoff game of the Belichick era with a QB not named Brady. Two days ago, nobody wanted Cam Newton. Now, suddenly he’s an MVP candidate? That’s one I’m going to take a wait and see approach to. I’m not one to rip on Belichick or Brady. They were awesome together. I don’t think Brady is the best QB ever, and I don’t think Belichick is the best coach ever. But I do think they are the best trio of QB, coach, and GM. Even if Belichick loses every game this year, it won’t diminish what he’s done. Ditto for Brady. Those trophies are already in the show case.

    Yep.

Brady the athlete is easy to love. Brady the guy not so much. Never though I’d say that.

  8. Edelman better grow…Cam loves to throw high.

(when I say loves I mean never worked on his mechanics and footwork so he can’t help himself)

  9. Lol, ya’ll are a bunch of prima donna’s! ..everything TB12 says or does puts all of you in a tizzy

These are the equivalent of dad jokes. I dont see what the fuss is about.

  10. A guy who actually trademarks a name like “Tompa”… is a tell that something is a little off.

  11. Tom, I hate to say it, but he’s just not into you any more. He’s moved on and it’s time for you to do the same. Have some dignity and stop calling. Someone will love you again.

Don’t be so sure Tom, Cam is here and you are not. My guess is that you will miss Julian more than he will miss you.

I’m guessing you’ don’t know who Tampa’s receivers are.

Or a guy like yourself who has to post multiple times about Brady on every article. You follow him around like a schoolgirl crush.

  14. What a bunch of idiots. Newton’s jersey number, in Carolina, at least, was 1. Brady’s making a joke. I remember thinking Belichick was making a mistake keeping Brady over Bledsoe, but I guess in hindsight there was no way they would have won 5 more SBs with Drew under center. What I don’t understand is why Brady wanted to stay in NE for 20 years, with the simple, fair weather fan base. Obviously, he’s not a Patriot anymore, but there is no reason to turn on him like you have. I’m glad he went to the NFC, at least. I can still root for him and the Pats, at least until they face off in the SB, although it’s not likely that will ever happen.
