Chiefs haven’t gotten their Super Bowl rings yet

The pandemic has caused plenty of changes. Here’s another: The defending Super Bowl champions are still waiting to get their Super Bowl rings.

The Chiefs have yet to get the ultimate individual recognition of achieving the NFL’s top prize. Earlier this week, a Chiefs spokesperson told PFT that there’s no definitive word on the distribution of the oversized items of jewelry.

Obviously, a ring ceremony/party won’t be practical this year. It’s also possible that the pandemic delayed the production of the rings.

Usually, the Super Bowl champions receive their rings by the end of June. With so many members of the starting lineup back for 2020 (despite the opt outs of guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and running back Damien Williams), it’s easier than it would be in most other years to hand out the rings during camp or, at the latest, just before the first game of the regular season.

  1. Well that’s a bummer for those guys. I haven’t seen the ring design, can’t wait though!

  2. Should come with an asterisk after the official robbed the Patriots to help the Chiefs win at Foxboro last year. One of the worst officiated games I have ever watched.

I know you all do things different in Boston but, watching that game last year, I was unaware the NFL was awarding the Super Bowl championship during the regular season?

But hey, if any fans, in any professional sport, knows more about how asterisks & championships work, it is you New England fans. Congratulations.

  4. A Patriots fan complaining about the refs just sealed my definition of irony and unintentional comedy for the year.
    Thanks!

  5. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa says the Pats fan. It is rich to hear you complain about not getting the call. Can you say Tuck rule? Face it you are the past and the Chiefs are the future. Get used to it.

  6. Excuse my ignorance, being a KC fan we are unaccustomed to these traditions, but don;t the do the ring presentation ceremony at a following season game like MLB teams? In that case, the players wouldn’t have received the rings by now anyway.

Oh and BTW Bosa was doing a rip move, that’s why Bosa didn’t even complain, it’s legal to hold in that circumstance.

  7. patsfan4lifesbchamps, apparently you missed the game the year before in the playoffs where the Chiefs D lineman was called for roughing the passer and he barely tapped Brady. That call extended the drive, letting them score to help send the game into overtime.
