The first season had plenty of good performances. It also had plenty of not so good performances.

So who were the Week One Goats in a Bad Way?

Yes, our weekly in-season feature is back. If Bruce Arians can call out his own players, we can call out anyone who deserves to be called out. Perhaps including Arians for calling out the true GOAT, in a good way.

Our selections appear in the attached video. We’ll do it again next Tuesday, and every Tuesday thereafter.

By the way, we’ll be back on NBCSN by next Tuesday, since the Tour de France ends this weekend. Every day, we’re on Peacock, the new NBC streaming service that has 15 million subscribers and counting.

  1. How is Ryan Fitzpatrick not included? As bad as Brady was, he still threw for 2 TDs and rushed for another with an over 60% completion rate. He played bad but at least had some great downfield throws.

Because Fitzpatrick playing bad actually benefits Miami in the long run. Last thing Miami needs is to be 8-8 unless it’s Tua starting most of those games. Miami’s priority still remains the 2021 draft. It’s not fun as a fan to continue to look to the future but with so many young players Miami’s ascend is different than your traditional rebuilds.

  3. I think it’s funny when a team is terrible every year people call it a “rebuild”. When you’ve won 1 playoff game in the last 20 years I wouldn’t call that a rebuild. The Seahawks started their “rebuild” in 2016 and have been winning because they have a winning culture. You don’t have to tank to rebuild, then your locker room gets used to losing.
