Russell Wilson makes history

They’re letting Russ cook, and he’s already rewriting the record books.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, with 14 touchdown passes this season, has the most touchdown passes through three games of any player in NFL history.

He’s also the first player in league history to throw four or more touchdown passes in the first three games of a season.

Today, the fifth touchdown pass delivered Seattle’s third victory against the Cowboys. Wilson now has 925 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and only one interception.

Although it’s not likely Wilson will keep up this pace, he’s on pace for 74 touchdowns. The record, set by Peyton Manning in 2013, is 55.

  1. Three 1 yd TD passes today. Stat-padder. Like Moses Malone missing point-blank shots to grab an offensive rebound and then the put-back.

  2. With the injuries and the early sign that they cannot pass rush, Russ may have to throw 74 TD’s if their defense cannot pick it up

  3. Another somewhat thin Seattle roster, and another season of last-minute Seattle wins and Russ theatrics. It will count for something if they get far in the postseason, which is still a long shot, football being the ultimate team sport, or something like that.

  4. Like Carroll as a coach but this is now another thing that he’s being proven wrong on. For years the fans have been asking him to unleash Russ and let him do his thing from the start of the game and not only in the 4th quarter. Also for years fans were screaming to fire their OC Bevell and OL coach Cable because they were downright terrible. Fans were proven right again. Carroll’s stubbornness had probably cost this team at least another Superbowl.

Doesn’t matter if Russ throws nothing but 1 yarders the rest of his career. They’ll all count.

3 sacks and 10 quarterback hits for Seattle. It wasn’t the pass rush giving up the big plays. The secondary was absolute trash.
