Report: Allen Lazard already had surgery, out indefinitely

A previous ESPN report indicated Packers receiver Allen Lazard would consult with core muscle specialist Dr. William Meyers. Apparently that already happened and a decision already was made.

Lazard underwent core muscle surgery this week and is out indefinitely, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lazard earned a game ball after making six catches for a career-high 146 yards and a touchdown in the victory over the Saints last Sunday.

He has 13 catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns this season.

  1. This is a truly a shame. The kid was really stepping up to the plate and the looks were giving him a ton of experience. Hopefully he heals up in time to play again later this season. Davante sounds like he will be back so that’s good news. Well, Allen was covering Davante’s back and now it’s Davante’s turn.

  2. Next Man Up.

Which, considering Rodgers can make just about any receiver a star, shouldn’t be too difficult.

  3. I think it’s safe to say that if Adams plays against the falcons, he’s going to have 25 receptions for 300 yards.

  4. This is still mysterious, came on so suddenly, no indications on the field. So what happened? Does AL go on injured reserve?
