Jalen Ramsey fined, Golden Tate not fined for postgame fight

The NFL apparently concluded that Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey was to blame for his postgame fight with Giants wide receiver Golden Tate.

The NFL fined Ramsey $15,625 but did not fine Tate.

Ramsey and Tate throwing hands led to a big brawl spilling out on the field after the game, with players on both teams getting involved. It could have been a very ugly situation.

The two players have a long personal history, as Ramsey is the father of two children with Tate’s sister, and Tate has said publicly that Ramsey treated his sister badly. Whatever the issues between them, what happened on the field on Sunday was not something the NFL ever wants to see.

  1. Certainly, it takes two to tango but Ramsey continues to be an immature embarrassment to his team, the NFL, his family and to himself.

  2. This was impressive, an example of the league disciplinary people studying tape and talking to people and discerning actual fault between participants in an altercation of this kind. No automatic “fine both the same amount” or “fine one more than the other.” In this case they’re assigning fault to Ramsey and none to Golden Tate. Nice job Troy Vincent.

  3. NFL still can’t do discipline right. How is this any different from Talib & Crabtree? You have to fine both here.

  4. Tate took two shots at Ramsey’s knees during the game so Ramsey whipped his ass after the game. Just another (PUNK Tate) getting schooled.

This is different because (1) much has changed since it was like 4 years ago (2) I don’t recall both teams fighting but it was a long time ago, so maybe I forgot (3) perhaps they reviewed incidents leading up to the fight.

  6. This is not Ramsey’s first post game fight, and it won’t be his last. I would note–he apparently was waiting outside the Giants locker room to try to fight Tate Again. He needs to sit for a few games to understand a fight before, during or after a game with another player is not going to be tolerated.

  7. Ramsey has talent but a punk I’ll never forget he tried to punk mild manner AJ Green and Green through him to the ground

So your response essentially equals up to you have no idea but you wanted to be contradictory.

  9. I’ve seen pics of Tate wearing a MAGA hat, so, with that in mind, I’m glad Ramsey kicked his butt, and I’ll be reaching out to him to help pay his fine.
