Mike Vrabel: Everyone in Titans organization will get a game ball

At one point in the not-too-distant past, it seemed like everyone working for the Titans would get COVID-19. Instead, they’ll all be getting a game ball from Tuesday night’s impressive 42-16 victory over the Bills.

Coach Mike Vrabel announced at his post-game press conference that all members of the organization will receive the honor — all players on the active roster and the practice squad, all cafeteria workers, every member of the cleaning crew. Everyone.

The team has been through plenty the past two 16 days, capped by a very real belief in league circles last week that the league would impose “historic” punishment on the Titans for violating COVID-19 protocols.

Apart from Tuesday’s win, the best news could be that the NFL apparently won’t punish the Titans at all,  a notion punctuated by the Commissioner’s comment to Jay Feely of CBS that no one from the Titans “willingly” broke the rules.

And so the Titans apparently have crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of s-it smelling foulness I can’t even imagine. They’re also 4-0, thanks to their most impressive win of the season, by far.

  1. Wait, didn’t knowingly break the rules? But the team practiced on their own.. after being told not to…

  2. Titans got two weeks of rest to get healthy and two prepare for Bills.

Bills had to play a tough af Raiders squad and didn’t know who and when they were playing next.

Yet everyone acts like Bills had some massive advantage missing huge players on offense and defense while Titans were missing who?

Titans deserved the win over us but this narrative that the Bills were coming in with all the cards stacked against the Titans is ridiculous.

  3. If this guy isn’t the best coach in football, I don’t know who is. I’m not just talking about X’s and O’s. He has so many guys on that team playing above their talent level. He knows how to get into a guy’s heart, and get them to respond. I’m not sure what he’s doing, but it’s happening. The best part about him is he doesn’t have to try to act tough. He is tough.

Corey Davis, Jeffery Simmons and Adam Humphries among others.

  5. Vrabel isn’t a good coach. He has a competent QB and the most powerful RB to ever do it. Big whoop

  6. Someone somewhere has apparently appointed the Titans as the feel-good team that is the successor to the Patriots. Now no intentional violation of the rules by Tennessee will be above wholesale pardon and will be given a complete whitewash.

  7. Remember when Vrabel was on the hot seat halfway through 2019?
He was being ripped in the media as a failed coach.
What do you all say now?
