Krys Barnes, Jordan Love on Packers COVID-19 list

Word of a positive test for a Packers player who took part in Thursday night’s win over the 49ers broke on Friday morning and the team has now placed two players on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Linebacker Krys Barnes and quarterback Jordan Love are the two players. Barnes played 23 snaps against the Niners before leaving with a calf injury while Love was inactive for the game.

Barnes and Love were high school teammates and they share an apartment in Green Bay, which makes Love a close contact for the purposes of the reserve list.

If he’s found to be a high-risk contact, Love will spend five days away from the team. Given the extended break until Week 10, he would be eligible to return in time to play next week if he continues to test negative.

  1. Oh is this the team the nfl allowed to play last night despite having close contact with a known positive for the virus?

  2. Wow, that’s rough. What are the Packers going to do without their first round draft pick? Such a big part of the team.

  3. Remember that one 1st round draft pick that sat for 3 years behind a HOF QB, when he finally got the chance to start he went on the have a HOF career himself and won a SB. You probably dont. How about this guy named Patrick Mahomes, hes so terrible he couldnt even start his first season in the NFL, what a loser.

  4. In the absence of a national directive requiring masks, a directive that should’ve been instituted last March, the season should’ve been cancelled from the beginning.

  5. Do any anti-maskers among us wear a coat when it’s -15 degrees outside? Yes? I’m here to tell you there’s no need for a coat.

    There are by far fewer people per-capita dying from hypothermia when not wearing a coat in cold weather than the per-capita deaths from Covid. Personal “freedoms” should therefore dictate a coat is not necessary. Don’t you let anyone make you wear one!

    No worries. There’ll be a real leader in-charge soon enough.

    ++++

    And then what, a national directive gets issued? What happens to those who defy it? Jail time? a fine? masks get stapled to their face?

    People who don’t want to wear a mask won’t wear a mask just because a “real leader” or anyone else tells them so. Your choice is to hunker down and avoid them, all while feeling superior.

    And yes, I wear a mask.

  8. Simple point: If Trump hadn’t promoted disregard for science and masks, this thing would be under control. As it is, anti-maskers who believed him have extended and expanded a pandemic for the unforeseeable future.

    Change my mind.

    It’s not under control in Europe and other parts of the world where what Trump promotes has less effect, if any at all. So please explain that, if you can.

  10. ….because ignoring protocol, dismissing science, and mocking medical experts is not the sole domain of our ex-president, that’s why.
