Rams would like to unveil a new uniform every year

When the Rams released their new uniforms this offseason, most fans were not impressed. But fans may have more Rams uniforms to choose from soon.

Rams COO Kevin Demoff said on the Rams Revealed podcast that the team is working with Nike on alternate uniform designs and may come out with new ones every year.

“Plan to roll those out in the coming years,” Demoff said, via USA Today. “If we do one, it’ll be one next year and maybe one the following year, or some combination thereof. Our goal hopefully is we can get to the point where maybe we can unveil a new uniform every year, either the way we space it out or whether the NFL and Nike changes those rules. Maybe a little bit more of a European soccer model where you come out with that alternate jersey each year. Some people like that, some people don’t. But yeah, we could see that.”

The Rams would presumably have one pair of permanent home and road jerseys that they wear in most games, but regularly come up with new alternative uniforms in addition to wearing throwback uniforms. Many fans like the Rams’ Eric Dickerson-era throwbacks the best (including Dickerson himself), but the Rams appear ready to keep tinkering with their uniforms.

  1. This is so silly. It’s a uniform. Not something to change the colours into a random mishmash once a year as a novelty. You want the fans to know the uniforms and grow attached to them. Or at least to be able to tell which team is which…

  2. Thought the NFL had rules about new uniforms… like once every five years or so…

  3. This is not a road you really want to be going down. European soccer clubs change their kit every season (most have 3 variants) If you have kids they don’t want to be wearing the “old” kit meaning expense every year. Incidentally soccer jerseys here used to be roughly half the price of NFL ones, now they are pretty much the same price.

  4. not surprising coming out of LA where fashion and image are more important than , y’know actually putting a good football team together– only concern is revenue, they could care less if they win

  5. The Uniforms are fine, they are not the problem. Los Angeles is not a good market for the NFL. The LA fans will go to games if the team is winning. See how they do when they go on multi year loosing streaks. Fans won’t invest in Jerseys, regardless of what they look like because few will ever be more then casual fans.

  6. So in other words they want to create a new alternate jersey to sell every year that will then be obsolete by the end of that year.

  7. How have the Rams not traded for Cam Newton yet? They are both more worried about wearing the latest fashions instead of winning games.

I think Cam’s Darkwing Duck suit should be the basis for new Rams uniforms. Look it up on youtube. He wore it to a post game press conference.

  8. So fans throw away those jerseys and buy a new one again and again each year! Is it starting to come into focus yet? The franchise is just milking their fans. Your commitment to them far exceeds their commitment to you supporters. It’s not about fashion or style, it’s about $$$$$$$.

  9. The reason they announce this in the middle of the season is because they got the feedback that the current uni’s stink. Especially the road ones. They look like practice uniforms. While they probably won’t admit it, they should get credit for being proactive about changing them as soon as possible.

  10. What’s he actually saying is, ahem… let’s do one every year until we find the one we can sell the most because everyone will like that one then…

  11. What proactive? Rams fans told them for years what they want, Demoff ignored them. The fans that stuck it out through two relocations and woeful football are being shut out.

He only cares about the opinions of people who might attend a game somewhere down the line.

  12. To all of those who love to hate on LA – CITY OF CHAMPIONS! Dodgers! Lakers! So much ignorance regarding the fan base here, but what would you expect from a group of people who get their information from celebrity gossip sites. Dodgers and Lakers have two of the largest and most loyal fan bases in the country. If you bothered to pay attention of the 11,000 fans allowed to attend the NLCS and World Series games, 95% of them were Dodger fans and most making the trip from LA. I love LA!

  13. NOBODY in the UK likes new uniforms/kit every year. To pretend that it’s not done to force fans to spend yet more money looking “up to date” is laughable

  14. The city has learned how to buy championships by renting HOF talent from other franchises — Betts from Boston and James from Cleveland. Not to mention countless others. Is anyome home grown anymore?

  15. The rams are either way, way overthinking it -or- desperate for merchandising cash after building a $5B stadium.

The traditional ram yellow/blue uniforms are clean and nice looking. Go with those.

Abdul Jabbar from Milwaukee, Shaq from Olando, Davis from New Orleans, Kirk Gibson from Detroit. It’s just shameless isn’t it?
I mean the Yankees or the Red Sox never won with anyone else’s free agent cast-offs. I’ll conveniently forget the 49ers & the Cowboys both “renting” Deion Sanders to win rings. Los Angeles should hang their heads in shame.

LOL!!! Such ignorance! Maybe you should take a look at the Dodger roster and see the majority IS home grown including World Series MVP Cory Seager and NL MVP Cody Bellinger, how about all of their starters – Kershaw, Buehler, Urias, May! Know what you are talking about before making such clueless statements.

  18. Kroenke has to do something for revenue to take on that hit of 5.5 billion dollar
Spruce Goose of a stadium. Remember,he did secure 500 million from the NFL. Lets hop they use a better design team.

  19. Changing the uniform style for a city that really doesn’t care about pro football? That’s like putting installing a chandelier in a flophouse.
