NFL moves Ravens-Steelers to Tuesday night

The NFL decided to wait no longer to make a final decision.

ESPN reports that the league has moved Sunday’s Ravens-Steelers game to Tuesday night.

The decision was made despite pending Friday PCR test results, which may show no new positives for Friday, an indication that the outbreak may have subsided. At least one positive test came from Friday-morning point-of-care tests.

The delay raises questions now regarding the timing of the Week 13 games between the Cowboys and Ravens and the Steelers and Washington. There’s been some speculation that Cowboys-Ravens could move from Thursday to Monday. If that’s the case, Pittsburgh’s game against Washington should move to Monday, too.

The fact that the decision was made today proves that, as of last night, no decisions had been made — despite reports suggesting that decisions had been made. The league made the decision today, independent and regardless of anything communicated by and between Ravens coaches and players.

  1. Is there a mechanism for Pittsburg filing some sort of protest or grievance. They weren’t the ones not following procedures. Not exactly saying they should but just curious to know if that is even possible.

  2. The Steelers have been the most jerked around team by the NFL due to other teams not taking COVID seriously.

  3. What happens if the Ravens still can’t play Tuesday because of virus issues?

If they play Tuesday, then Steelers vs Washington should move to Monday night. Not enough time between games which penalizes the Steelers.

Finally, Ravens need punished, take away a high draft pick. And fire that assistant coach.

  4. Please explain how the NFL grants the Ravens five extra days to clear players and practice but the Raiders have had thier entire offensive line out ( game was actually moved forward ) Then almost thier entire defense + few key backups out and not get thier game moved? I would just like an explanation and have the formula thats used that makes these decisions please..

  5. This is what’s wrong with the NFL. It is inconsistent. Now the NFL has to explain this decision to the Raiders and the Forty Niners. #ApologyRequired

    Steelers win by 30

As a Ravens fan I think you’re about right. I hope both teams treat this more like a preseason game to check the box and get it done. At this point the Ravens will be playing guys in positions they aren’t normally in and that is an injury risk for both sides.

  7. I think the Steelers are going to out the hammer down on this sorry ravens squad. I am not so sure they will recover and make the playoffs after this.

  8. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise given the current state of the pandemic. The Steeler players/coaches can be upset but it could easily be the Steelers that has a major breakout. You deal, adjust, and move on. The NFL is going to go through the whole season on the brink of having to shut down.

  9. the NFL is just trying to get thru a COMPLETE season. I actually think they’ve done a good job under the circumstances.

My own team has been zapped a couple of times.

However-lets face it. There are going to be some teams that get zapped and some not. Covid doesn’t let you have a choice.

  10. If this game is played Tuesday, then the Ravens get to play Monday but the Steelers still have to play Sunday I am done with the NFL!

  11. I wish that the fans that constantly blame the league for their team’s lack of success would just stop. Enough whining.

The NFL is NOT out to get your team. If your teamis losing, it’s because they’re not very good.

The owners are all billionaires with teams of expensive lawyers. If the NFL ever tried to disadvantage one team, they would be in court for years.

  12. The good news is we now have a Tuesday game to look forward to. But the NFL needs to let all the teams know that there won’t be any excuses going forward. Keep an extra QB or two on your roster. Make sure your QB stays out of harms way. The games must go on. Put the ball boy under center if need be, but take the field on schedule.

  13. This is Schedule Hopscotch. Can’t be good for preparation and the players’ physical conditioning.

  14. Like I said before. The Steelers are prepared to scrap any time, any place, any day. The NFL front office can juggle all the balls they want but when that opening kickoff whistle blows they are really ready to light somebody up. They are not undefeated by accident. Tomlin, Ben, and company keep a football in one hand and a baseball bat in the other. They have the “come get you some” mode on gameday which I really admire. I can’t remember the last time they came out flatlining.

The Steelers are upset with lack of fairness here. And we haven’t lost yet. Your comment holds no water.

  16. If the Steelers-Ravens play on 12/1, Westwood One has notified its’ radio affiliates, the Cowboys-Baltimore game is being moved to Monday, 12/7 at 5pm. If Ravens-Steelers don’t play on 12/1, the Thursday game on 12/7 between the Cowboys-Ravens will be played as scheduled.

  17. The NFL should allow Tomlin to trip one Ravens player per quarter no matter where they are on the field.

  18. Most confusing paragraph ever: “The fact that the decision was made today proves that, as of last night, no decisions had been made — despite reports suggesting that decisions had been made. This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read here. The day Goodell was hired, was the day he was told to go after certain teams while protecting others to maximize NFL ROI.

The man had been caught cheating in federal courts on multiple occasions for crying out loud.

  21. We will whoop that ass on Tuesday and then will whip day ass on Sunday. We don’t need a monday night game. 12-0 We don’t care

    signed,

Vance McDonald, Ben Roethlisberger, Jerald Hawkins, Jaylen Samuels

  24. Its a Christmas MIRACLE….all of a sudden the Ravens have it under control. I dont buy it for second. You watch, the week after the Ravens game ,the Steelers will get 2 or 3 new covid-19 cases

  25. The Pittsburgh Steelers. One of the most respected, well run and iconic teams in the NFL, is really getting the shaft on this one. And no, I am not a Steeler fan.

  26. Any edge we can squeeze outta this for Washington is all right with me! Heh heh
Can’t wait to see that battle of the division leaders

    A. How many games have the Steelers forced to be changed, sport? Hint: Less than 1.
    B. How many of the players listed were found to be positive for COVID? The ones today have not been announced as positive and could easily be just be close contact (like Rothlisberger was). And McDonald is on the active roster. He played last week.

  28. It was my understanding that Commissioner Goodell gave the Baltimore Ravens a VERY STRONG talking to!

  29. id just like to know why the niners…pats…and raiders had to play but they move the ravens to tuesday?
