The Buccaneers have another rematch in store for Super Bowl LV, having lost to the Chiefs back in Week 12.

Kansas City was up 27-10 with 7:00 left in the third quarter, but Tampa Bay scored 14 straight points to keep it close. Following Mike Evans‘ seven-yard touchdown catch with 4:00, the Chiefs’ offense held the ball through the rest of the game.

In his Monday press conference, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said familiarity does help.

“I mean, you go back and you look at the game and what matchups you had,” Arians said. “I’m not really excited playing Tyreek Hill and [Travis] Kelce and [Patrick] Mahomes. That’s a formidable challenge, but our guys will be up for it.”

While Tampa Bay lost that November matchup, Arians still thought there were positives to come out of it.

“You learn from mistakes and you learn from really good things,” he said. “There were some really good things in that game, so we’ve got a lot of stuff to build on.”

The Buccaneers now have two weeks to prepare for a different outcome in Super Bowl LV.

  1. Grasshopper vs Master. Hoping Master will win this one and retire, passing the GOAT baton to Grasshopper. Grasshopper has learned well, very well, and it’s going to be tough for Master to win this one. Wishing them both the best of luck.

  2. Those Bucs wrs need to help Brady by catching the ball when it comes their way and can not afford drops, and defense needs to create turnovers if they want any chance of beating the Chiefs.

  3. TB’s best hope is the let the Chiefs get out to a sizeable early lead and then throw it into neutral like they’re prone to doing. If TB jumps out to an early lead, look out.

  4. i think the browns and chargers showed that you need to take out mahomes to have a real chance

  5. Rodgers put on 346 yards on your defence. Brady threw 3 picks. Mahomes most likely will capitalize on those if it happens again.

  6. Once (if) the Bucs safeties get healthy, Arians can worry less about the great KC offense. A healthy Bucs safety group and an injured KC offensive line will even out the game a little = give the Bucs a chance to win.
