Bruce Arians: We physically kicked the Chiefs’ ass

After the Buccaneers wrapped up their boat parade in Tampa on Wednesday afternoon, members of the team took turns on the microphone to celebrate their Super Bowl title.

Head coach Bruce Arians was one of them and he spent a little time in his speech talking about the Chiefs. Arians said their motto of “run it back” after winning Super Bowl LIV was “bulls–t” and revealed the view that the Buccaneers will be taking before taking another look back at last Sunday’s win.

“We going for two. We going for two and we ain’t stopping,” Arians said. “We’re going to keep this band together, and they know how to win. . . . You beat every damn thing we lined up against you. You did it the right way. We did it the right way. We physically kicked their ass.”

There’s no arguing with Arians when it comes to how things played out in Super Bowl LV. The rest of the league will have to come up with a compelling case for why he’s wrong about their own repeat effort falling short.

  1. I like belichick’s approach better. Respect all your opponents and let the scoreboard do the talking next time you meet. You have the GOAT – act like it.

  2. The Bucs earned the championship and deserve it, but Arians needs to tone down his rhetoric and be respectful in victory. Remember, ‘Pride comes before fall.’

The Chiefs played soft. They missed Damien Williams who opted out for COVID

and Ldt the starting left guard who is a Canadian doctor who opted out to help attend covid patients. plus their third round draft pick who was slated to start ooted out for covid. then Ldts back up blew out both knees in week 2. lost mitch Swartz due to back problems and eric Fisher.. in Afc… i dont call that soft. they were outmatched.

  4. Give the guy a break, he just won a Super Bowl and had a bunch of Bud Lights. Let him bask in victory one day. BTW, what he said was true, Chiefs didn’t even score a touch down and don’t gimme that garbage about not having two starters on your O line, Bucs didn’t have a major DT (Vea) most of the year and still found ways to win! They beat the best no doubt and they are World Champs!

  5. It’s a shame it took til the superbowl for people to realize what an amazingly talented team Tampa Bay had. Several position groups are just beyond freakishly loaded with talent. When they started coming together down the stretch it was obvious they had something special.
