Saquon Barkley says he’s rehabbing the right way to come back better

Giants running back Saquon Barkley was crying and asking “Why me?” when he tore his ACL in Week Two of last season. But he’s done feeling sorry for himself and focused on getting better.

Barkley said on Mike Tyson’s podcast that he understands not every running back gets his athleticism back 100 percent after a torn ACL, but all he can do is his best.

“No matter what, if I came back and things didn’t go the way I don’t envision it going, which I can’t see that because that’s the way I envision it, but I know I’m going to do everything necessary to put myself in the right position, in the smart way and the right way, to come back better,” Barkley said, via NJ.com. “If it’s not in the cards for me to me to do it, At least I know I can look myself in the mirror and know I put in the work ethic and I did the little things and all the all the things that matter to try to make myself become one of the best to do it.”

Barkley, who just turned 24, should have a long career ahead of him. But he recognizes he still has a long road back for the 2021 season.

  1. Hope he’s not Ki-jana Carter. Barkley really good kid. Hope he gets chance to get near his potential

  2. Clearly a degree in statistics is required for any competent GM. You have the 2nd overall pick and what do you do ? Draft a position that has a high probability for injury, a low overall lifespan, and an overpriced 2nd contract ? Major Injury. Check. High priced contract coming. Check. Ezekiel Elliot on line 2. Josh Allen on line 3 ! Great kid. Love to see him do well. But if I’m a Giants fan I want Gettleman fired before he does anymore damage.

  3. The Giants need to show SB the door. Most over rated player in the game playing a dime a dozen position.

  4. You are smart to do everything you can to get the knee in he best possible condition. Foot ball for you may last 6 or 7 more years. You need your knee to last for your whole life. Bill

Interesting seeing as how the experts had darnold and rosen both rated better than allen. So if the giants took a qb at 2, it would have likely have been darnold.

Josh allen has become tired of waiting and left the queue. Quenton nelson is now on line 3 waiting to hear why the team with the worst o-line in the league didn’t take him.
