Veteran wideout John Brown has found a new home after being released by the Bills earlier this month.

Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports that Brown has agreed to terms with the Raiders. It’s a one-year deal worth $3.75 million in Las Vegas for Brown.

Brown was limited to nine games in Buffalo last season and finished the year with 33 catches for 458 yards and three touchdowns. He had 72 catches for 1,060 yards and five touchdowns during his first season with the Bills and had productive seasons in Baltimore and Arizona before joining the AFC East club.

The Raiders released Tyrell Williams this offseason and Nelson Agholor has agreed to a contract with the Patriots as a free agent. That leaves Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow, and Bryan Edwards to join Brown in their receiving corps this year.

  1. But last year I said Agholor was better than Brown!!! I guess the Raiders like to downgrade.

  2. Garbage sign. A bottom of the barrell player, always hurt. Pay for a #1 WR with size. Raider wr cant run thru a paper bag.

  3. He should give Derek Carr another good receiving option. Solid veteran with speed.

  4. Wow what a big splash–NOT! Give me the keys to this operation and I believe I could run this CARR better and more efficient than the two clowns that are ruining my life and a majority of the Nations fan base..Something or someone is rotting the locker room up and turning the good players away from wanting to turn this thing around. Either FIRE Gruden & Mayock so someone can get us back to respect in this league and take us back to the promise land.

  5. Smoke is still relatively young – he had bad luck with injuries last year, but was otherwise stellar w/ the Bills in his time there.

You’re getting a good one, Raider fans. Carr will love having him as a target. Sneaky fast and gets open downfield.

  6. You Raider fans pissed over this just don’t know the player you signed. Great value there if he stays healthy. Not as quick as Ruggs, but he is a much better route runner

  7. This is a steal. Hes better than nelson agholor. idk why anyone would give a WR whos never topped 1k yds (or 900 for that matter) 13mill per year. 5mill john brown is exactly what the raiders needed so we can allocate money on our Oline/Defense.

  8. The Raiders saw Brown in their game against the Bills (he had 42 yards) last year. He’s had a couple of decent years in his career (slightly better than Agholor) But he’s 31 and 3 years older than Agholor. Got to stay healthy. He’s an okay number 2 and decent number 3. The Raiders need a number 1.
