The Raiders won’t cut center Rodney Hudson after all. Instead, they’ll trade him to the Cardinals.

Arizona and Las Vegas are finalizing a trade that will send Hudson and a seventh-round pick to the Cardinals for a third round pick, according to multiple reports.

The surprising news that the Raiders planned to cut Hudson led to some teams contacting the Raiders about acquiring him in a trade. The Cardinals will now get a Pro Bowl center.

Arizona has been loading up on well-known veterans, with Hudson joining a team that now also includes J.J. Watt and A.J. Green. The Cardinals think they’re contenders this year, and they’re bringing in the final pieces of the puzzle.

  1. Cards going for it. AJ Green, D Hop and Fitz at WR. JJ Watt on D. Another vet not at C. Division will come down to Cards and Niners.

  2. The Raiders powers-that-be figured out that Hudson was most likely headed back to KC as a free agent. Surprisingly smart move.

  3. I wonder what Mayock would’ve said about this if it were another team 3 years ago.

  4. They beat some pretty good teams last season including KC and NO…they just have no depth at this point. With any luck, they’ll contend in 2022

  5. Hudson potentially landing in KC doesn’t excuse them from trading a pro-bowl C for a 3rd round pick. Sure it’s better than nothing, but if you’re trying to win you keep your good players.

  6. I don’t think anyone knows what the heck the Raiders are up to this off-season.

Maybe not even the Raiders themselves.

  7. Guess this is why I’m not an NFL owner/millionaire. I just don’t understand how this works.
