Rob Demovsky of reports that Lancaster is re-signing with the team.

  1. Surprised by this move. There didn’t appear to be a market for him so why not wait to see what happens after the draft in the even they draft a couple d-lineman – then decide?

  2. This is probably the least exciting news of the day.
A move like this is most likely facilitated by the fact there’s a very thin group of talented IDLs coming out of the draft.
Hoping Alabama’s Christian Barmore falls far enough for GB to snap up.

  3. After last year’s draft debacle you should be happy with anyone on the list VFBOED.

  4. Gute has done a incredible job of keeping together most of the team that has 28 wins over the last 2 seasons. The only major loss was Corey Linsley. And because of the draft and develop success the Packers have had on the OL, they have several options to replace Corey at center.

Tyler Lancaster is a solid player and quite valuable as a rotational player on the DL to keep everyone fresh at all times.

Gute also is not done making moves, and also still has the draft and post draft to also improve the team.

The Packers are clearly the best/strongest team in the NFC North and there isn’t much question on what the outcome in the North will be. The Packers only real threat comes from other top teams in the NFC outside the North.

  5. Depth – we needed depth and competition. Tyler had some good moments – now that he is back hopefully he can elevate his level of play and make some disruptive plays on the interior of the Dline. In any case he is a known quantity and knows the system and if any of the draft picks at this position do not outplay him – he is at least adequate.

Congrats on winning the 2020 draft, it really made your season.

Well, look what we got instead of a backup QB and slow fullback!

    A 7-9 record?

  8. You can never have enough big guys. Please keep looking for more.

Lancaster was nearly invisible last year, deemphasizing holding hurts the non-athletic run pluggers the most.
