The Bills have added more depth for their offensive line, agreeing to terms with guard Forrest Lamp on a one-year deal.

The Chargers selected Lamp in the second round back in 2017, but he missed his rookie season after tearing his ACL during training camp.

While Lamp was able to get through the 2018 season healthy, he suffered a broken leg in 2019 and missed much of the year.

But Lamp served as the Chargers’ starting left guard in 2020, appearing in all 16 games for the first time.

The Bills previously added Jamil Douglas and Bobby Hart to provide depth along their offensive line this offseason.

  1. Going to go out on a limb and say that Forrest Gump is not Lamp’s favorite movie.

  2. Great pickup. Low cost, high upside – from a player with little tread on his tires & a high ceiling coming out of college. Sounds like he needs more practice, coaching & gametime to continue to improve.

  3. The Lamp! Wanted the Bills to draft him back in 2017 lol. Instead we traded up and took Zay Jones. Not a bad deal signing a 2020 16 game started for *depth* on our O-line. Nice signing!

  4. The Vikings were rumored to be interested in him but he is a guard so Dennison can’t move him to guard and he can play both sides so Dennison can’t flip him to a different side. I’m sorry we missed out on him. There is almost no way we can screw up his position and for pass protection Dakota Dozier is only marginally better than a lazy boy recliner. Well we can always draft a tackle and convert him to guard and move him from the left side to the right. That ought to work. Bye bye Forrest, some people said you gave us hope……

As a long suffering Vikings fan, the re-signing of Dozier made me cringe.

  6. Another great signing by Beane. He continues to add players with solid starting experience and high ceilings for veteran minimum contracts.

  7. He’s got more holes than a leaky dam. Good luck bills fans you’ll be hearing his name a lot as he gives up more pressures than just about everyone

  8. I find a lot of fans hard to understand. Lamp had a worse rating than Dozier but some Vikings fans wanted him anyway. If he’s just a backup for Buffalo that’s good but he’s not a quality starter and I dont believe Dozier will be starting for the Vikings either.
