The final piece of the Buccaneers band jumped back on board this week.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown was the lone free agent left from the core group that helped the team win the Super Bowl in February, but he signed a one-year, $3.1 million deal to return to the team. Shaq Barrett, Lavonte David, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, and Ndamukong Suh are some of the others who have stuck around for another run in Tampa.

On Thursday, Brown went on Instagram to post about his appreciation for a second year with the Bucs.

“First and foremost, I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the Buccaneers,” Brown wrote. “It wouldn’t be possible without my brother Tom Brady, the Buccaneers organization, my teammates and of course my fans. So Let’s Go God Bless.”

Brown signed with the Bucs while serving an eight-game suspension last year and wound up with 45 catches for 483 yards and four touchdowns. With Godwin, Gronkowski, Mike Evans, Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson, and Cam Brate all back and O.J. Howard expected back from injury, it will be interesting to see how the playing time shakes out on the Bucs offense this year.

  1. Do you guys think AB has cost himself a hall of fame spot with all of the antics on and off the field?

  2. If the Bucs get some depth for the Offensive line in the draft, they are the deepest team by far. I’ve never seen such depth at WR. They are solid, and built to play 17 plus playoffs. Cant imagine if Evan’s can stay healthy, but if not Antonio’s brown as a 3rd WR isn’t bad.

  3. httwft – Antonio Brown put together a six-year stretch in Pittsburgh that you can put up against any WR in the history of the game. And now he has a ring. His career certainly has rough patches but he’s getting a bust in Canton, no doubt.

  4. Meh, like i said they dont need him but good to have on the roster. Should be a fun year seeing IF the Buc’s can repeat, TB12 is the GOAT

  5. I would guess TB12 lobbied to get him signed. We don’t know that as TB12 did not say anything publicly. But just because he didn’t and it wasn’t printed doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I would not even be surprised if TB12 spoke with AB and suggested he take take less and sign a one year deal…..

  6. Brown opted out of $30 million from the Raiders and blew his opportunity for $11 million with the Pats.
Now his market value is around $3 million. As he ages I can’t see him getting a huge payday. $3 million is about right.

Who cares how many girls he assaults as long as he can catch right?

Tyreek Hill, Joe Mixon, Deshawn Watson….

  8. This needs to be investigated but it never will be. I guarantee brady promised to pay brown more money through his TB12 foundation if he signs this deal. Same cheating fiasco from the new england days and brady knows his dad Goodell will cover it up every time. A disgrace to sports that this continues to be overlooked.

  9. Brady added no only himself to the Bucs, he brought with him Gronk, Brown and Fournette. That’s a lot of talent.

Without those four the Bucs don’t make it to the divisional game. All four were key in the super bowl.
