Buccaneers made Kyle Trask the sixth quarterback

It wasn’t Davis Mills. It wasn’t Kellen Mond. The sixth quarterback taken in the 2020 draft is Florida’s Kyle Trask.

The Buccaneers took Trask with the last pick in round two. He gives them a player who can develop behind Tom Brady over the next year or two or three.

Brady, for his part, likely will react better than the last time his team used a second-round pick on a quarterback.

Trask played college football at Florida, so he won’t have far to go for his next NFL address.

  1. As a Gator fan I’m happy of the landing spot Arians runs a good offense. As a Lions fan I hoped he’d fall to us. Good luck

He did fall to you and with their 2nd rounder the Lions picked Teven Jenkins instead, in this year’s draft you can’t sit around all day expecting top QB’s to fall to the 3rd or 4th round there’s just too many desperate teams out there!

BTW a Gator fan and a Lions fan, that seems like a wierd combo?

Completely right on the opportunity to take him in 2, happy with the beef for the line but yeah I’d hoped either he’d slip to our next. Or, more likely we’d trade up to get. Too much in motion I’m glad he’s in a good spot. As for your lions/gators comment yup quite right strange combo. Born in Gainesville then headed north later with family. I’m also a Red Wing and a Tiger. As if anyone cares 🙂

  4. I’ve haven’t seen this guy do anything wrong. He finds a way to complete 3rd down passes. I think he could have been the #2 overall pick. Time will tell. Brady won’t play forever. If Arians is still around, he’ll get a shot. I don’t know how these teams decide which QB’s to take, and in what order, but they very rarely get them right. Andy Reid took a lot of criticism for moving up to get Patrick Mahomes.

  5. I can relate… born in Ohio and moved to Tampa. Cavs, Bucs, Rays, and Lightning.

Very good point. He had horrible luck with Pitts not being available in two big games and they were just outgunned. I thought one thing he did really well was keep UF in it even when behind what appeared to be a superior opponent. He’s got a chance to be a good one in the pros if he get some time, some coaching, and some luck as they all do.

Aww, people do care. I lived in Mass and FL for a long time and now in CA. My teams are Pats, Red Sox, Bucs and FSU. We’re all like that.
