In 2020 the 8-8 Bears made the playoffs thanks to an expanded postseason, but were quickly eliminated by the Saints in the Wild Card Round. In the 2021 draft, they’ll have the 20th overall pick, their first first-round pick since 2018 (thanks to the Khalil Mack trade), when they took Georgia LB Roquan Smith 8th overall. This offseason, the Bears parted ways with QB Mitchell Trubisky, a first-round pick back in 2017 who has since signed with Buffalo. Chicago signed Andy Dalton to a one-year, $10 million deal, but in a draft rich with quarterback talent (and with those Russell Wilson rumors finally dying out), Chicago will likely be looking for a more long-term answer at the position.

The Bears’ salary cap situation meant they were constrained to minor moves in free agency, and they have plenty of needs left to address in the draft. Star WR Allen Robinson signed his franchise tag after a prolonged and contentious negotiation, but wide receiver remains a huge need for the Bears Offense, which finished 26th in the league in yards per game in 2020, and which currently lacks depth beyond Robinson and RB David Montgomery

  1. They can’t move up for one of the top QB’s or WR’s, so drafting a tackle or guard makes sense. They shouldn’t reach for a QB at #20 but should see if they can package some of those #6’s and their own 2nd to move to the front of round two for the Monds, Mills, or Trasks of the draft…

  2. It’s Kyle Fuller, not Kendall.

The Bears are in a tough spot. If they stay at 20, assuming the top 5 QBs are gone, if they do anything but OL they are idiots. Unless maybe Parsons or Surtain/Horn somehow falls.

  3. Gotta get a Day 1 OT starter in Round 2 (which shouldn’t be too hard). Edge pass protection is a sieve and Fields won’t get anything done until that’s firmed up.

  4. Who the hell is Kendall Fuller? I remember Steve Fuller (especially his Gator Bowl!) and Kyle Fuller but Kendall? And you say he was an All-Pro!?! Very curious…

  5. Kyle Fuller
    Kendall Wright

Love the pics this year. Hoping Dalton buys some time to get Fields ready similar to Smith-> Mahomes.

Who was the Chief’s OC during that time?
