Aaron Rodgers will appear on The Conners, as the host of Jeopardy!

Several years ago, Aaron Rodgers played himself on The Office. He’ll soon be making another cameo on another sitcom. This time, he’ll play himself as Jeopardy! host on The Conners.

The folks at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel spotted the tweet hyping the final two episodes of the season from the Roseanne-free Roseanne reboot.

One of the characters from the show appears as a contestant on the show, a device that has been used in the past.

Rodgers spent two weeks as the guest host of Jeopardy!, and he hasn’t been bashful about politicking publicly for the permanent gig. In stark contrast, Rodgers has been tight lipped regarding his future with the Green Bay Packers.

The producers of Jeopardy! are expected to name a new host later this year. Rodgers has said that he believes he can do both jobs at once, hosting the game show and playing quarterback for the Packers, or potentially someone else.

  1. I’ve change my thinking and I think he will come back to play but NOT agree to a long term deal but rather tell the team, one more season then you can have love and trade me.

  2. Obviously Rodgers is no longer a football player. He will never lead his team to or win another Super Bowl!

  3. Rodgers can do both jobs, hosting jeopadry and sticking it to the packers

  4. No way he gets the Jeopardy gig. He thinks he’s a shoe-in, but other guest hosts have been much smoother. In his egotistical mind, he’s all that and a bag of chips. Sorry Aaron, keep focused on what you’re good at.

  5. As a Jeopardy fan, and a fan of Alex, I thought Aaron did a great job.

But you’ll never replace Trebeks voice, “This… Is Jeopardy”

  6. A really good actor has the ability to portray other characters. All Rodgers knows is how to be his own passive-aggressive self.

  7. Rodgers really thinks he’s a good actor lol. He’s not even that great a host. This man will fall back to by next season.

Except that voice is Johnny Gilbert’s. Nice try, though.

I think it’s rather presumptuous to think that he thinks hes a shoe-in. Seems you have inferiority complex and as for “other guest hosts having been much smoother” well that may be your opinion and o wouldn’t say hes been the best but on polls on tv sites hes usually ranked right near the top sp it seems more likely that either you only watched the 1st episode he did or that you personally just dont like him.

  10. Rodgers has done everything he can to help the Packers.

Last year, Rodgers was the league MVP. His offense was the #1 offense in the league. IF a team can’t go all the way with that, they have huge problems.

Maybe the Packers should try to improve their defense.

But then Rodgers would throw a tantrum because they didn’t get him any weapons.

  12. As if this show wasn’t already a crusty bunk sock, you add Erin to the mix… ugh.

Roseanne got done dirty. Will never support this show or ABC after that.

  13. The only thing I watch on TV is football and an occasional baseball game. I’d watch golf when Tiger was in the hunt, and I’d probably watch a few minutes to see what Tony Romo is all about. Rodgers is kind of like Tony Romo in that they both have a lot of talent outside of football. I really don’t care what Tom Brady does in his spare time. I don’t care what Aaron Donald does. I don’t care what hobbies Alvin Kamara is in to. I’m just a football fan, and I realize most guys have lives away from football. I certainly wouldn’t watch anything with Roseanne.

Ok??? I mean Rodgers may or may not be a man of many talents off the football field, but I’m quite certain he is not a time traveler.

  15. When Defensive players sack Rodgers this season they should get up, stand over him, and say ‘Who is ‘Players Name’, Alex. Teams could play Weird Al Yankovic’s ‘I lost on Jepardy!’ song in the stadium every time Rodgers throws an Interception. This could be a lot of fun if played right.

  16. Trebek was personable, Rodgers comes across as being fake. As a long time fan of the show, hopefully this is the closest he’ll get to hosting the show permanently.

  17. If Rolf Benirschke can host Wheel of Fortune, Aaron Rodgers can host Jeopardy…

  18. Rodgers is one of the all-time great QBs, but there is no way he will get the Jeopardy gig. I don’t expect him to rival Trebek out of the gate, but his performance–while adequate–was well below other guest hosts. On top of that, a high percentage of Jeopardy watchers are not football fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if up to a third of them have never even heard of Rodgers. The producers know their audience and it wouldn’t make sense to give them Rodgers as host.

With a lot of voice and communications training, Rodgers could be a good sports commentator. With a ton of acting training he might be able to play some character parts on TV.

  19. I don’t watch a lot of TV, and did not know Roseanne was back on the air. Thought that show was cancelled long ago.

  20. Other than his short stint as a ‘celebrity’ tryout, this may be the closest Rodgers will get to permanently hosting the show.
