Todd Gurley is getting some interest from Detroit.

Gurley, the free agent running back who has had a quiet offseason, is in Detroit today to visit the Lions, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

In Detroit, Gurley would play once again with quarterback Jared Goff, who handed off to him when both were on the Rams. It would also be a reunion for Gurley and Lions General Manager Brad Holmes, who was the Rams’ director of college scouting when they took Gurley with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.

Last year Gurley left the Rams for the Falcons and had career lows in carries (195) and rushing yards (678).

  1. I didn’t know he was on the market. Why isn’t he playing for anyone?

  2. Knee injuries have sapped his abilities. Dude needs to realize his career is over. Atlanta no longer wanting or needing his services should have already made him realize it.

  3. Been a free agent since the end of last season and hardly anyone noticed.

  4. The only way the Lions should sign him is if he’s available at the veteran’s minimum. But unfortunately he’s no longer the Todd Gurley who sliced and diced defenses.

When Malcolm Brown got injured and couldn’t come in to spell Gurley, pass block, etc., Gurley had to do all of that and be an every down back. That’s when his motor burned out. He’s never been the same since.

  5. only way Detroit is going to win this year is pound the rock, control time of possession. Swift, Jamaal Williams and Gurley would be a way to get it done. Less time D spends on the field, better it can help them.

  6. Really sad, this kid had the chops to be the next Bo Jackson, he really was that gifted. He did some superhuman things at UGA.

Nick Chubb also had a HORRIFIC knee injury at UGA that ended one of his seasons. If you have a weak stomach I don’t suggest watching the film on YouTube. Yet he’s going strong as an ox in CLE.

The injury cookie crumbles different ways for different people.
