Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians and General Manager Jason Licht are being rewarded for a job well done.

After leading the Buccaneers to a win in Super Bowl LV, Arians and Licht have both received new contracts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Although salaries for coaches and GMs are rarely made public, suffice to say they both have job security and big money coming to them for years to come. Arians reportedly received a pay raise for the years he has left on his current deal, while Licht got years added to his deal.

The 68-year-old Arians is heading into his third season as the Bucs’ head coach. Despite the late start he got on his NFL head coaching career, Arians now has a Coach of the Year award with the Colts, a Coach of the Year award with the Cardinals and a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers to his credit. He’s building himself a Hall of Fame résumé.

The 50-year-old Licht has been GM with the Bucs since 2014, and although it took until his seventh season for him to make the playoffs, the Bucs’ patience with him has paid off with an impressive roster that won the Super Bowl last year and has all the key contributors back this year.

  1. I don’t care what anyone says, Brady changed the entire culture of this team going forward.

These two should gift him 20% of their raise as a “Thank You”. And I think 20% is pretty generous as it could be much higher…

  2. Anything that involves Tom Brady should have a giant asterisk next to it…

The Bucs went 7-9 with Winston a season earlier. He single-handedly lost them 6 games: a 3 interception game with 2 returned for TDs, a 5 interception game and lost fumble, a 2 interception 2 fumble game, x2 games with 4 interceptions game with a pick 6, a pick 6 on the first play in overtime, The Bucs lost 6 of their 9 games by a TD or less. Insert even an average QB with the same team and you’d have a 10 win season.

  4. We all knew Jameis was a great QB, but he just needed the right coaching. Right? What? Jameis isn’t there anymore? Well then who was their new QB? Tom Brady? The same Tom Brady that won 6 super bowls in New England? Then why did they give the coach and GM new contracts? By the way, what happened in New England? How’d they do without Brady? What? They went 7-9 and missed the playoffs? But did Belichick leave, too? No? He’s still there? But I thought he was the goat? Oh, I see. There’s a new GOAT. It’s Bruce Arians. OK, does anyone have a bridge they’d like to sell? There’s never been a better time to be a bridge salesman.

Now explain the losing seasons from 2009 through 2019

  6. Terrible signing, they didnt do anything. Awful GM who went up to get a kicker? totaL bust. TB12 wanted to come here and he is the only reason the Buc’s had a Super Bowl.

  7. Jason Licht was fired by ownership. He begged them for 24 hrs and told them he could bring Brice Arians to Tampa. He literally found a lottery ticket. Just because you’ lick into signing Tom
Brady and B. A. Doesn’t mean you’re good at your job though and he isn’t.

  8. Arians might be a good coach but I just find him extremely annoying. Tends to make things about himself rather than the players and overly dramatic.

  9. If he literally found a lottery ticket, why not cash it in and tell the Bucs to pound sand?

  10. “Insert even an average QB with the same team and you’d have a 10 win season.”

Haha, I’ve heard this Brady’s entire career.

Insert Tom Brady and you have a Super Bowl championship.

  12. Licht also drafted Devin White, Vita Vea, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs, Antoine Winfield Jr., etc. Brady was a game changer no doubt, but Licht and his scouts built a great team that Brady chose to join.

  13. Good for Jason Licht, he still has put together a great roster over the years and has had a great draft track record.

Oh and these 2 deserve an extension simply for pursuing and welcoming in Brady the way they did, and if Brady won them the SB then mission accomplished, their guy did what they brought him in to do.
