Devin Bush: It’s gonna be fun facing three Heisman QBs twice a year

Steelers linebacker Devin Bush is on track to be fully recovered from last year’s torn ACL in time for the start of training camp next month and that means he’s also on track to be back in a central spot in the Pittsburgh defense.

Assuming he remains healthy for the entire season, six of the games that Bush plays will come against AFC North opponents from Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland. In each of those games, Bush and the Steelers will be facing quarterbacks who won the Heisman Trophy while in college.

Bush made it clear this week that he’s looking forward to those matchups. In a post to Twitter, Bush wrote that it is going to be “fun af” to face Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Baker Mayfield twice a year.

Mayfield helped knock the Steelers out of the playoffs last season and those matchups with divisional opponents will be a lot more enjoyable for the Steelers if their quarterback Ben Roethlisberger can avoid the turnovers that dug Pittsburgh a deep, early hole en route to the 48-37 loss.

  1. I forgot about this guy. Maybe he will help but their QB will be their downfall.

  2. Ya it should be real fun for Bush and the rest of the Steelers defense. Jackson can’t hit water if he fell out of a boat, Burrow Is coming off a major injury and has a turnstile for a O-Line and Mayfield, hopefully he puts more time again into making commercials then practicing his craft.

  3. Two things started the Steelers downfall last year and both were before the Playoffs even started, first was losing to Washington in week 13 as that started a downward spiral and them losing 5 of the last 6 games.

The second was sitting players week 17 and losing to the Browns, that gave the Browns the momentum and the confidence to knock the Steelers out the following week in the Wild-Card round of the Playoffs! If you have a opportunity to knock a team out of the Playoffs or beat them so you don’t have to face them again in the early rounds of the Playoffs you take it, you don’t sit your best players and lose to them, it’ll come back to bite you as the Steelers found out.

  4. Being a Michigan guy, I figured he’d have PTSD from anything college football related.
