Team statement on Barkevious Mingo: “The Falcons take the allegations very seriously”

The Falcons have issued a statement to PFT after news broke that defensive end Barkevious Mingo is facing charges in a child sex offense case.

“Our organization became aware of the allegations involving Barkevious Mingo today and are currently gathering information on this incident. The Falcons take the allegations very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation,” the team said in the statement.

Mingo posted a $25,000 bond. The offense is listed in court records as indecency with child sexual contact.vThere is no further information about the nature of the incident.

The 30-year-old Mingo was the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft and has played for the Browns, Patriots, Colts, Seahawks, Texans and Bears.

  1. The most heinous crime imaginable. Mingo needs to be suspended immediately pending due process in our court system.

  3. Oh man when does it end for these guys?? please throw this man in jail IF charges prove true.

  4. Interesting to read some of these comments. I guess courts aren’t needed anymore. If accused, you just need to be fired. I find it interesting that a seating member of congress is currently accused of having relationships with underage girls and even paying them for sex. Yet, he is still a member of congress and still goes out and gives speeches. I guess where society draws a line is a man whose job is to run his body into another man.

    Fake outrage.
