Tyreek Hill has been “grinding my tail off” after Super Bowl embarrassment

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce isn’t the only one still salty about Kansas City’s 31-9 loss to Tampa Bay. Receiver Tyreek Hill remains upset more than five months after having the deuces thrown his way, too.

“Man, you know what, man?” Hill recently told TMZ.com. “I’ve been grinding my tail off ever since that loss. . . . I feel like we was kind of embarrassed on national TV during the biggest game, you know, in the last game of the year.”

And like every player from every team that ever loses the Super Bowl, Hill intends to return.

“We definitely don’t want to go down that route again,” he said. “We’ll be back.”

It won’t be easy, as if it ever is. The AFC has plenty of teams good enough to get there instead. And if Aaron Rodgers gets his beautiful-mystery wish via a trade to the Broncos, that’s another team that becomes an instant contender in the division and the conference.

  1. The last Super Bowl loser to win the Super Bowl was the Pats in Super Bowl 53. Considering the Chiefs offensive line is still suspect, Mahomes contract eating away to stop the Chiefs from gaining more talent, and the already soft defense I would say this is wishful thinking from Hill. Browns, Bills and Ravens have solid chances.

  2. Plenty of teams? Who? I’d say Bills, Browns. Ravens but even those have question marks. Bills are the best contender outside of KC but they have some ground to make up to catch KC. Browns/Ravens have good teams but QB’s are suspect and can’t get over the hump. And while Rodgers might help Denver, it’s not like Denver is a Tampa type team where all they were missing was a QB.

  3. KC is the AFC odds on favorite to get to the super bowl. The Bills and Browns have a shot.

On the NFC side, there is more competition. Tampa is, of course, the favorite, then there are the Rams, 49ers, Packers (if Rodgers returns) and Seattle. Personally, I think the 49ers have the best shot, behind the Bucs but only IF they can stay healthy……which isn’t very likely.

A repeat of last years Super Bowl is a strong possibility.

  4. The Chargers are probably going to win the AFC West this season. They have a great young QB on a rookie contract and were able to invest in quality free agents this off-season. The Chiefs have so much cap tied up in Mahomes’ contract they aren’t able to fix the holes on their team. Herbert came within an eyelash of beating Mahomes last season starting his first game on literally a moments’ notice. The Chargers D’ knows Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense well, and has figured out how to slow it down. Add to that new HC Brandon Staley, architect of the league’s best D last season. I think the Chargers may rule the division for the next few seasons. There will be some tough and exciting games between the Chargers and the Chiefs, that is for sure. The two best teams in the AFC may be in the West.

  5. KC is the favorite as Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill are an outstanding trio on offense. But there are a lot of AFC contenders: Bills, Titans, Chargers, Ravens, Browns are all at a high talent level. The next level in the AFC can surprise us all with a surge: Miami, New England, Las Vegas and Pittsburgh.

  6. KC basically has the same team as the one that went to the Superbowl the last two years. the biggest reason why they lost last year was due to an injured offensive line.

It appears KC has fixed their O-Line problems, so they are the favorites in the AFC. Sure…The Bills have a good shot, but I don’t think that the Chargers have a shot this year. Herbert is in his second year, but he has a new head coach and new offensive coordinator. Young quarterbacks need time to adjust to new coaches and offensive schemes.

  7. Another one year dynasty after Belichick gave the league blueprint on how to stop the Chiefs offense.

  8. I’d respect you if you were embarrassed for your human actions and grinded your tail off to be better at that instead of football.

You call the pats a 20 year dynasty. They won 6 Super Bowls. Why’s that?

  10. Going to 10 super bowls, and winning 6, in 21 years IS a dynasty.

If you can’t call the Patriots a dynasty, then no team has earned that honor

    =======

Is that blueprint to hope you get them later on the schedule to the point where injuries take enough of a toll to give your team a shot at a W? What a genius!

Bill are in for a rude awakening. One good season during a once ina lifetime pandemic is called an aberration.

Cap hell is coming once Allen is paid and that’ll be all she wrote. Teams that do a lot of group patting on the back and press clipping reading, usually don’t win anything.

Two decades of getting to the superbowl 10 times while being a contender the other half, plus winning 6 of those Superbowls to boot. Thats why.

  14. I would say KC is in the driver’s seat to win the Super bowl based off their offensive line makeover…

  15. The chiefs won ONE SB and started talking like they were the Patriots. Laughable.
The Chiefs are just another mouthy pretender to the throne of Dynasty. The defensive plan to beat them is already in all the defensive coordinator game plans.

  16. Patriots…. lol. no one cares about the Patriots anymore but patriot fans. Tom Brady in one year proved who that suoerbowl variable was.
