The Buffalo Bills have given a new title to one member of their offensive coaching staff.

As noted by Sal Capaccio of WGR 550, the Bills have added the title of passing game coordinator to quarterback coach Ken Dorsey. The move is reflected in his official biography through the team’s website.

Dorsey received interest from the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions in their searches for new offensive coordinators this past offseason. Dorsey ultimately remained in Buffalo under offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

The Bills are coming off their most successful seasons in over 20 years as their reached the AFC Championship game last season. Buffalo had the league’s second-ranked offense in both yards and points per game, trailing the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers in each category, respectively.

Dorsey has been with the Bills the last two years after spending five years as a quarterbacks coach with the Carolina Panthers from 2013-17.

  1. Dorsey is being groomed to take over for Daboll when he gets a chance at a HC gig. Keeping continuity is huge in the eyes of Beane and McDermott.

  2. All good moves. Now let’s concentrate on a running game at least as good as KC’s.

  3. Yep, I agree with you guys. He’s being prepared for the OC role when Daboll moves on. At that point, you can try to get Davis Webb to become the QB coach. He seems ready to transition into a coaching position. Talk about continuity for Allen!

  4. Seems much like Assistant Head Coach, another way to elevate assistant while essentially giving them same responsibilities.

  5. The Bills are going to run away with the AFC East. Only Miami poses any threat.
