Jon Gruden: Every Raiders coach and all but four or five players are vaccinated

The Raiders are one of the top teams in the league in one category: Player vaccinations.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said today that every coach on his staff is vaccinated, and so is “almost every” player.

Gruden said he thinks four or five players on the team remain unvaccinated. He did not name those four or five.

NFL teams with more players vaccinated will be at a competitive advantage, as they’ll have more freedom of movement in team facilities and fewer restrictions on team meetings.

The Raiders are one of 14 NFL teams with at least 90 percent of their players vaccinated.

  1. Three cheers for Gruden and the vaccinated players. It’s a patriotic duty to get vaccinated for the welfare of our country. It’s the epitome of selfishness masquerading as “freedom” not to.

  2. Considering the CDC says vaccinated people spread it just as much as unvaccinated and should stay in masks, I’m not sure the point. This vaccine is obviously not as good as advertised.

  3. I predict the Raiders will end up 100% Vaxxed. Commitment To Excellence and don’t die trying.

  4. Where’s the article where Bill Belicheck says he won’t disclose players vaccine status? As it should be

  5. I wonder if vaccinated players will sue the NFL when the side effects kick in.

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What are you afraid of? It’s not HIPAA, so don’t hide behind that. Maybe you don’t want to be identified as unpatriotic.

    Too late for that.

Everyone was supposed to get vaccinated so the virus would be eliminated before it mutated. Mutation is what the doctors were afraid of but some people didn’t care. It has mutated mainly in the unvaccinated and is now stronger and more efficient. The vaccinations still keep the vaccinated largely symptom free.

The vaccines didn’t fail people are failing at understanding what needs to be done to defeat COVID.

“New data shows the delta variant, which accounts for more than 80% of the new infections in the U.S., behaves “uniquely differently” from its predecessors and could make vaccinated people infectious.” -CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky

Hey Jerry, notice it’s the delta variant. The vaccine was not created to protect against variations. You knew that though, right?

  9. “It’s the epitome of selfishness masquerading as “freedom” not to.” But it’s not selfish to expect someone to do something to themselves to make you feel better? Got it.

It’s not about making me feel better. It’s about protecting the people around us, loved ones and strangers. But I’m an optimist. I like people. That’s why I’m vaccinated and I’m back to wearing a mask. It’s not about me or my inconvenience.

Expecting you to do something to yourself that saves your own life is not being selfish. Expecting you to do something that helps stop a worldwide pandemic is not being selfish.

  13. Another great job by one of the best organizations in all of sports!! the haters on here are really sad human beings

  14. Looks like Gruden really has his priorities in order.
Coaching record last 3 years : 19 wins, 29 losses. Zero playoff games.

  15. That is great. Now if only he could actually coach or build a winning roster.
