With Carson Wentz out indefinitely as the team continues to evaluate his foot injury, the Colts have signed quarterback Brett Hundley.

Hundley has spent the last two seasons with the Cardinals backing up Kyler Murray. He appeared in three games for Arizona in 2019 but did not take a snap in 2020.

Hundley entered the league as a Packers fifth-round pick back in 2015. The quarterback received his most extensive playing time in 2017 when Aaron Rodgers was out with a fractured collarbone. Hundley started nine games for the Packers that year, completing 60.8 percent of his passes for 1,836 yards with nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Green Bay went 3-6 in those games.

The Packers traded Hundley to the Seahawks prior to the 2018 season. He didn’t appear in any games for Seattle.

Indianapolis also announced the signing of defensive tackle Joey Ivie on Saturday. The lineman reportedly struck a deal with the Colts earlier this week but had to go through COVID-19 protocols before the deal became official.

  1. Sad for Wentz, happy for Hundley. Just imagine Brett hanging outside waiting for the phone to ring to get back inside. Hope he’s able to capitalize on it. Can’t be easy learning the playbook from scratch while suddenly trying to demonstrate your decision-making abilities on the fly.

  2. Based on what I saw after he replaced Rodgers a few years back, Huntley is quite possibly the worst QB I’ve ever seen start a NFL game. It is truly freaking amazing he’s still in the league.

  3. Hundley has the potential to be a decent QB, not a long term answer but to fill in a couple games, in Green Bay he was overwhelmed, he has matured a lot and he should be ok

  4. Thank goodness Hundley has George & The Man with the Yellow Hat to help him get through this challenging situation.

  5. Behold… the future of Jordan Love: journeyman backup

Hasn’t even thrown an NFL pass. Smh

  6. Good for him still playing football. Better than working at Sears selling Lady Kenmores.

  7. Yeah, Hundleys the ticket. This guy is one of the worst quarterbacks on NFL History. What a Joke.

Nathan Peterman says hold my beer.

  10. Blake Bortles would have been a better signing then Hundley. Blake at least knows the division and is mobile.

  11. Ben Denucci would like to have a word with you about the worst QB ever seen. Even Denver’s receiver playing QB was better than Ben.

  12. I’m surprised they didn’t re-sign Chad Kelly, he was in their system not too long ago. I also would’ve picked Bortles & even Matt Barkley, Josh Johnson, or even David Fales over Hundley. I think they should keep an experienced veteran as an alternative to Eason, but not Hundley.
