Tim Tebow, a first-round pick at quarterback eleven years ago, is trying to make the team in Jacksonville as a tight end. Jaguars passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer believes that Tebow’s experience at his prior position will help him at his new one.

“You see the football mind, you see how he sees the game from the quarterback’s point of view,” Schottenheimer told reporters on Saturday. “There was a play a couple days ago in the red zone where I think it was C.J. [Beathard] broke out and scrambled left and the first guy that saw it was Tim and we threw him a touchdown pass. Why is that? Well, he has played the position — he has stood back there and seen, ‘Oh well he is moving this direction, I have to go with him.’ It is going to be fun to watch him compete In the preseason as well.”

Schottenheimer also said that Tebow has been a “sponge” when it comes to learning his new craft.

“He knows there are things he does not know,” Schottenheimer said. “He asks unbelievable questions, you know, he really does.”

Tebow will soon get a chance to show what he can do during preseason games, as he attempts to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, or at a minimum the practice squad.

  1. Timmy: “Hey coach, how’s it going?”

Schotty: “He asks unbelievable questions, you know, he really does.”

  2. I think all Teebs is worried about is when Urban is going to trade Gardner Minshew,so Timmy can his #15 jersey back.

  3. A story about Tebow cosplaying as an NFL tight end is the surest sign we are in preseason. Regular season can’t get here fast enough so all this noise gets drowned out.

It’s so odd to see so much hate for Tebow. What did he do wrong?

Now, it’s too late. Get it?

  5. Tebow’s experience helping makes sense. If he has the ability and learns the skills to play the TE position at an nfl level, then good for the team and good for him. I don’t get where there is a problem with that.

  6. Schottenheimer’s track record as an offensive coach is poor. How does he keep getting re-hired?

  7. Tebow will make the team a few reasons why

    1] HE’S Urban Meyer’s boy”PET”

2] Urban knows he’s his biggest disappointment

2] Urban wants to try and make him like TAYSOM HILL “master of it all” ,being QB,RB,WR,TE

3] Urban”and most important” , he wants to prove to the world that his biggest named star from college days “wasn’t a one time wounder”
And that….He was just coached wrong bye the NFL COACH’S .

SO that being said , I WOULD NOT be surprised he makes the team,as a “TAYSOM HILL KINDA GUY”

  8. Hey @touchback6,

So you honestly think Tebow is entitled and isn’t a hard worker? And you hate him because he’s simply trying out for a football team? Seems a little sensitive, especially if you’re a grown man.
