Packers quarterback Jordan Love did not practice last week or play Saturday against the Jets because of a shoulder injury that led head coach Matt LaFleur to call him day-to-day heading into this week.

Love is moving in the right direction on Monday. LaFleur told reporters that Love will be back on the practice field when the team works later in the day. LaFleur suggested Love will be a limited participant as his absence comes to an end.

Assuming all is well with Love over the next few days, it seems likely that he’ll be on the field against the Bills in their preseason finale on Saturday.

Kurt Benkert started against the Jets and will also be in line to play as the Packers are keeping Aaron Rodgers on the bench until the regular season.

  1. What a wasted pick. Not that he doesn’t have talent– it’s just that they didn’t need him. Poor kid could have gone to somebody like NE and had a stellar career.

  2. Love can benefit from limited play and watching and learning from Rodgers, just exactly as Rodgers did with Favre. How did that work out?

Yeah, that strategy of GB drafting a QB before they’re needed and letting him develop never works. Oh wait …

  4. Benkert will be the #2 this year and J-Love will spend another season on the practice squad.

  5. Green Bay is being smart with Love. Why risk your next MVP in a meaningless preseason game?

  6. NEXT MVP!!!! Thanks. I like laughing. J-Lo was the 4th or 5th best prospect in his draft and the same for the year after. Aaron was in the conversation for #1. You can compare all you want, but when did J-Lo get his college team to beat or compete against a powerhouse school they had way less talent than like Favre did beating FSU or Rodgers almost did twice against USC……. The kid is a backup. TBH the Backup QB position is probably worth a 1st round pick…. No worse than 12th most important position on the team in fact. The pick woulda been fine in rd 2 where J-Lo likely still woulda been available, and maybe even at 26. Let him play, and we have to hope 12 misses 2 games this yr too. More likely GB wants him back another year if they see the kid miss every throw under 30 yds. Cuz that’s his game chuck it deep…. Don’t ask him to stick it between the backers and the safetys.
