Lineback K.J. Wright and the Raiders didn’t strike a deal when Wright visited with the team in early August, but they have been able to work something out a month later.

Wright told Josina Anderson that he has agreed to a one-year deal with the AFC West club. He joins Divine Deablo, Nick Kwiatkoski, Cory Littleton, Nicholas Morrow, Tanner Muse, Denzel Perryman, and Javin White at linebacker in Las Vegas.

The move reunites Wright with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who ran the defense in Seattle when Wright was breaking into the league and joined the Raiders this offseason.

Wright has spent his entire 10-year career with the Seahawks and there was some talk about a return at points this offseason, but that’s now off the table.

Such a Raiders thing to do.

I’ll bet you he plays more games this season than Isaiah Wynn

What do you think a team does when they have an injury at a position?

  3. Last year he played better than Bobby Wagner. So he wanted more money but Penny-pinching Mode says adios.

  4. Great acquisition! Not a HOFer, but familiar with the new coaching staff, and a solid player. Fills a huge need going into the season, and he can take the field tomorrow and run the defense. New defensive coaches have to be pleased, and Wright is also a great leader. Perfect Raider!

  5. Congrats to the Raiders, KJ’s a great player and will be great for the locker room and the community. Bummed the Seahawks didn’t bring him back, but understand. And the comment above about playing better than Wagner last year is not exaggeration. It’s spot on. He was great last year and should still be an above average player for a couple more years. We’ll miss him in Seattle, but Raiders fans should be excited.
