The Steelers confirmed that they’re trading for cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon on Friday afternoon and they also announced who will be dropped from the roster to make room for him.

Defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux drew the short straw and has been cut. He had five tackles in 11 games for the Steelers last season and has also spent time with the Saints and Chiefs since going undrafted out of Oregon in 2018.

Cam Heyward, Tyson Alualu, Isaiah Buggs, Chris Wormley, Carlos Davis, and Isaiahh Loudermilk are the remaining defensive linemen in Pittsburgh. Stephon Tuitt and Demarcus Christmas are on injured reserve.

The Steelers will be sending a 2023 fifth-round pick to the Seahawks for Witherspoon. He signed with Seattle this offseason after spending the last four seasons with the 49ers.

  1. Dude had a 80+ grade at PFF in limited snaps last season, for whatever’s that worth. Depth upgrade at CB in the kinda the same way Karl Joseph is for the safeties. Steelers are good at coaching CBs but not good at drafting them, so he’s a bit of a project, but one with upside based on his size (6-3) and recent production.

Should have traded for an o-line or head coach.
Did you know that in his 15 year career, Mike Tomlin has only ever coached 1 game where his team was out of playoff contention. Not even BB can claim that…

  3. Did you know that in every playoff game he’s been out coached, out played, out pre-paired. Did you also know his team has played with zero discipline, missed assignments, and few adjustments.

Another fun fact although he’s never had a “losing season” No coach has done less with more talent maybe in the history of sports. He went seasons with the best o-line, top 3 wr’s, top RB, and incredibly talented players on defense.

Did you also know that he is supposed to be a defensive guru yet his players are out of position, miss assignments, communication breakdowns, always go for the spectacular play rather than play disciplined assignment based football.

I’m glad you’re happy with Mediocrity. You’re also probably one of those fans that think our colors are black and yellow.

  4. look tomlin is not perfect but his record is his record. and if it wasn’t for the fact the Pats cheated for basically 15 years Pitt would of had 1-2 more Sbs.
