Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne spent the last four seasons in San Francisco, where Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur was the passing game coordinator. So with the Patriots now preparing to face the Jets, Bourne is helping the Patriots’ defense get ready.

Bourne said this week that the Patriots’ coaching staff has asked for insight into the Jets’ offensive system that LaFluer now runs, according to Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald.

“So giving them tips, and showing them landmarks that [the receivers] used to go to, stuff like that to kind of help them break on routes. So yeah, they’ve been asking me questions, and I’ve been helping them a little bit.”

Bourne probably can’t give the Patriots’ coaching staff a whole lot of information that they don’t already get from studying film. But every little bit helps, and a big part of the Patriots’ success under Bill Belichick has been doing every bit they can to get an edge.

  1. The Jets have a new coaching staff but they are still the worst franchise in the NFL. It starts with ownership and it extends through the team. It’s sad to see what the team and city do to young promising talents. Chew them up and spit them out

  2. Certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a good Jets beatdown this weekend

The Jets are so bad it won’t be a benchmark win, just quite enjoyable for the fans

  3. Robert Saleh should never have left the 49ers. If you’re going to say that he was offered more money to become a head coach for the Jets….I would say that I would have stayed in San Francisco as the defensive coordinator while still getting paid good money, while enjoying great success with coaching players like Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, Fred Warner, Jimmie Ward, etc. while getting a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. When was the last time the Jets played in one? More than 50 years ago! I think Saleh will be fired in 3 years and he will go back to being a defensive coordinator. I would have stayed in San Francisco.

No you wouldn’t. The difference between being paid guaranteed millions a year as a head coach and a few hundred thousand as a DC would not be turned down by anyone. Especially since there are only 32 NFL HC jobs in the world.

Three years at a minimum 4-5 million a year is wealth that guarantees you never have to work another day in your life if you don’t want to. Your kids don’t have to worry about paying for college. You don’t have to worry about expensive medical care bankrupting you if its need.

No one turns down that kind of security.

Agree completely. As a bills fan I mock how the jets are run but you’re right .nobody is turning down this job bc it’s one of 32. Everything you said was spot on

  6. The poor Jets, another top drafted QB that will be blamed for all the failures of this abysmal franchise.

  7. Kendrick Bourne? The Patriots will never see another Super Bowl while The Hoody is still coaching. It was a nice run Bill but Brady and the rest of the superstar band are gone now.

You couldn’t be any more wrong. BB rebuilt the team in one year. They may not make the playoffs this year, but they will be a contender in the coming years as they finish rebuilding. Some teams take decades to rebuild (Jets, Lions) . BB is doing it as we speak.

He actually started it in 2018/2019. Takes more than a year to do a cost conscious build.

Was whiffing on Isaiah Wynn and N’Keal Harry part of his plan?
