The Raiders aren’t sure whether they’ll have their starting quarterback and starting running back on Sunday against the Dolphins.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden said today that quarterback Derek Carr had an MRI on his ankle and that Carr is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. Carr went down during Sunday’s game against the Steelers in what initially looked like it could be a serious injury, but he ended up not missing a play.

Gruden also called running back Josh Jacobs “very questionable.” Jacobs suffered ankle and toe injuries in Week One against the Ravens and did not play Sunday against the Steelers.

The 2-0 Raiders are four-point favorites against the 1-1 Dolphins, who have a quarterback injury of their own to deal with after Tua Tagovailoa hurt his ribs on Sunday.

  1. Derek Carr is listed as questionable. When pressed by reporter to define questionable, Coach Gruden said it’s questionable whether Derek throws for over 400 yards or not.

  2. I’ve never thought Carr was very good – decent, just not “elite”, but he is proving me wrong this year. I hope he heals up & is ready to play soon. He’s been fun to watch this year. He just needs to stop taking unnecessary sacks & dump the ball off when the play isn’t there.

  3. The Raiders aren’t actually undefeated, it’s only temporary. Look forward four weeks and they’re actually 2-4.

  4. I expect Carr will play. Jacobs I’m not so sure about. Given how neither Drake or Barber lit it up, maybe we should give it a shot with Ragas.

  5. I love these Raiders fans talking about Steelers hitting Carr low. Carr’s just lucky Watt got hurt by halftime or he was gonna spend the afternoon in his back.

  6. Carr will be a questionable as Tom Brady was all those years in Boston. I’d bet my house on it.

  7. Saw a Steelers fan whining here about TJ Watt. Football is a team game. Raiders were missing three starting OL, the bell cow running back, and they STILL riddled the Pittsburgh defense. You got to have depth and you got to have heart. Raiders had it last Sunday.

  8. Carr likes to play. He wanted to play in that playoff game in 2016 with a broken leg. He played his final game in college with a separated shoulder.
