The Broncos waived running back Nate McCrary on Thursday after signing outside linebacker Aaron Patrick from the Jaguars’ practice squad.

The Broncos claimed McCrary off waivers from the Ravens on Sept. 1.

McCrary entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Saginaw Valley State in the spring. He led Baltimore in the preseason with 42 carries for 163 yards and scoring a touchdown. He caught three passes for 34 yards.

Patrick is a first-year player from Eastern Kentucky University who has competed on the Jaguars’ practice squad each of the past two seasons. He signed as a college free agent last Dec. 14.

  1. Agree with Swami – not sure how they feel about Leveon Bell who is still on Ravens PS, but they obviously would have kept McCrary if they knew the entire starting backfield was going to go down just prior to week one – he played well in preseason and knows the offense.

  2. Dude is built like a linebacker. Prefect for short yardage situations and 4th quarter when the defense starts to kinda give up a little bit. I think the ravens will claim him or he will be signed to the PS if he clears waivers.

You have to assume if he clears waivers the Ravens will sign him to their practice squad.

I’m more apt to assume they will sign him to the 53 man roster and send Freeman packing.
